Oslo...as bad as things are, i have to totaly agree with what you have said here..just think the positives ( see other bobmid post) just about outway the negatives.....but only just !!
It could be too late if we leave it until Christmas, would you keep him with 10-15 games without a win? Ive stopped wasting energy even cheering the team on like so many others with his team selection, we know we will lose. Notice the difference in the crowd as soon as Taarabt came on? Hughes is reminding me of Holloway by being utterly clueless and Holloway is the only manager to stop me from going to games because I could tell we would lose by the line up, eg Santos up front is Hughes' Park and SWP on the wing.
Well Flyer my beauty please publish your team of the day to play WBA based on the current form of both teams
-----------Cesar Dyer---Hill----Nelsen----Onuoha -------Mbia-----Faurlin Park-----Granero------Taarabt ---------Zamora Subject to other players recovering from injuries. Hoilett to come on at HT if we are losing, not the 86th minute. Playing SWP and an out of position Park is inexcusable for any game.
you may not be that far out Flyer but if West Brom attack down our left side they would have to get by Taarabt and Onuoha We would be too weak so dont be surprised to see Park play there, Mackie could also be a better option at fullback than Onuoha who I have lost confidence with Hoilett will be unlucky not to start
On the money Flyer old kiddy like it. ... How about this what do think of Park playing Right Back if Dyer is out as its been overlooked on here and he played there for United before
Just maybe? if Traore comes through in time ... Dyer to come on for SWP ( he works very hard) and push Park up -----------Cesar Park---Hill----Nelsen----Traore -------Mbia-----Faurlin SWP-----Granero------Taarabt ---------Zamora
Best you get a few points in front of us first dragon ... after this weekend you could be only 2 points and with a failing team and the honeymoon over maybe too early to laugh it up. Since September 1st Swansea have been beaten very easily and were outplayed by Crawley by all accounts
It's good to be positive Dragon. I hope you get out of that slide as I have said before on here love watching the Swans ... but if rust sets in ... it's a bugger to shift ... Yes we are bottom of the league and misfiring but god help any team in this division when we get off the kypotuner ... woof woof
The really odd thing about Hughes' tenure so far is that I can think of a few occasions when we have played well and a few vital wins but I can't remember any instance of us playing well AND winning.
Thats what Hughes thinks and thats why we always lose by the odd goal, the CM could cover down the left side with Park tucking into the middle and Hoilett tracks back less than Taarabt. Also, look at the goals for WHU, was SWP tracking back for both goals scored from the RB position?
The only time we play well and open up is when we are losing, its like hes trying to get a 0-0 or sneak a 1-0 every game. If we played the whole WHU game like we played after the subs, wed have won by 3 or 4 except Hughes would have gone defensive as soon as the 1st goal went in and would have tried to hold on.
For me the jury's out on the manager, but I agree with Judo's post. We need to avoid the managerial merry go round. We've been there. I just hope that Hughes can turn this around sooner rather than later. He does come across as being very dour on the TV, but face to face (the one time I've spoken to him which was for about 5-10 minutes) he was very articulate and communicated well. I pray that it will come good soon.
You're right of course. This was probably lost to me in the face of the drubbing on the opening day this season. Interestingly both games could have gone either way regardless of the eventual big winning margins. If you score first against the sheep shaggers they tend not to have an answer.
The thing is (and my mind might be playing tricks on me here) most of Hughes best victories - at home of course - have been Taraabt inspired. He turned it on in that 3 nil Swans win, and the Spuds game in the fantastic run-in sequence. Hughes knows what he can do, he's no fool after all; but he chose to discipline him and singled him out, 'must try harder in training' etc due I think to the 5 nil drubbing. Cut your nose to spite your face.
What ? the first goal Flyer was on their right not ours ... A one, two and a slow response from Clint Hill saw a ball knocked back to Nolan who hacked at it and it flew wildly into the air. still spinning it floated over Onunha's head the ball was headed back across the goal by rooted to the spot Matt Javis ... the ball was a cross as he has admitted but it found its way in. How was that SWP's fault? in fact who's fault was it? ... a bloody fluke is the correct answer. The second goal following a corner wasn't cleared after a scramble crossed back to the back stick where Va Tez got a shot in ... the ball hit Mbia and deflected past Cesar. Naughty SWP. I may be available to come down to Southampton, maybe we could go out to the park and knock a few balls around where i could explain the game for you? xx
