The Times are reporting that we're in talks with an American consortium about the sale of the club for circa £200m. They've been granted a 6 week exclusivity to carry out due diligence after they have taken pole position over 2 other interested parties. The leader of the consortium is a guy called John Moores...........weird.
I knew you were fella, GOT is the same. They make me laugh. For the last decade all we've heard is; "Bill out", "anyone would be better than him, as he's put £0 in", "we don't want a billionaire, just someone to put some money in and sort out the stadium". Then a prospective purchaser appears who's run a baseball team for 18 years, sorted their stadium issue out and made them more successful on and off the pitch..... "Looks dodgy this ****", "not having him la", "It's Bill's fault for agreeing to sell to another carpet bagger"
People still believe a Chairman should pump his / boards own money into the club to finance things. The BU state how poor our commercial deals are, but these helped secure the club....stop us going bust. Plus why should all the funding come from a group that holds 2/3rds of the shares, surely the other share holders should chip in? After all they will make a nice profit when they deep their share(s)
This is not popular news on TW. Now they say they always wanted an outside group to conduct the sale!
They wanted an outside group to conduct a sale. Would they do that? If it were your business, would you. Not in my name
The club could have employed an agency to try and find a buyer.......oh wait, they ****ing did Keith Harris from Seymour Pierce. A fact that seems to have escaped them..... What they really wanted was a say in what ended up happening. They've always been the same since the days of keioc, there's been a small group who thought they should run the club by proxy.
Shermans not happening as they've been gazumped by a middle eastern buyer - according to respected journo Matt Lawton. Could complete before midweek Can you imagine the kopites faces if we dropped for a Mansour type of owner? ****ing lol
It's finally happened - we have a new majority shareholder ffs! Not sure why he's only initially taken 49.9% and what the split of shares now actually is......but this fella being the associate of Usmanov and a billionaire in his own right is the kind of result I was looking for. Pleased that Bill is staying on as Chair, as he can guide the job along, with an investor who has the ability to fund our future development
