this takeover I just boring...nothings going to change much really. Windows will be a bit more interesting, but not much changes
no I think manq is an established premier league quality right back...struggled at first and had a confidence issue , but over a long period of time now he's been very reliable.
It pains me to say this but @1.4 trillion is correct. If we'd just bought Manq for £15m in January 2019 fans would be adamant he was a solid player. Yes he was poor prior to that and yes we got him on the cheap but he's been a good part of an excellent Premiership defence for well over a year now.
I assume you know it was Rafa. In fairness he's fast as anything and frightened teams going forward in the Championship. Not a good enough defender for any level above that but never lacked effort or application so there's limits to how much I'll slag him off. Only 5 million I think. Only.
true 5 million is nothing these days and he's been worth at least that , but like you say he's at his peak and that's at loser level of the prem and top of the championship level.
Wouldn't use our championship season as a stella example. We were bang average as you can get, it was purely because we had a squad which should never have been relegated that we came back up. Yedlin looked mediocre in champo, no were near good enough for anything above.
Anyone starting to think the takeovers becoming a bit sketchy again? Or still as confident it’ll happen?
No. In the internet age, with crap like Twitter, it's very easy to think there should instant information. It seems pretty obvious to me that there's zero urgency needed from the buyers (season unclear, transfer window still shut, etc.) and the PL - an incompetent bunch at the best of times - have other priorities. I also feel that the new owners have an AWFUL lot of planning to do. Most clubs of our size have a competent-enough board, ongoing work to training, medical, facilities, etc. We have absolutely ****ing nothing. That means we need to, first and foremost, find and hire a competent leadership team because there simply isn't one in situ. That takes time on its' own. No way Staveley or Al Rumayyan are going to be confident in plotting the strategy, they need experts to do it. Those experts need to be found, orchestrated and plans actioned. None of this can or will happen in the public eye. If you're going to assume anything, assume that delays are a good thing. The last time a buyer came in and spent 15 minutes assessing it, and a further 5 minutes putting a plan in place, look where it got us.
Typical example of lies, damned lies etc. No way did Ashley spend as long as 5 minutes putting a plan in place, no way. Two minutes tops and that includes the time looking for a rubber.
We live in the world of the 24 hour news cycle, if information isn't relayed every single day, people naturally panic. We are conditioned to think like this. Social media is a cancer.
