No issue at all here. The tree huggers keep trying but separation was proved and the confidentiality of what was provided preserved so they have no recourse.
Amnesty International just want everyone to know they're still fighting the good fight, so they rear their heads with **** like this just to be noticed.
There's nothing to stop a state owning a football club, it was all about the piracy issues regarding BeIN Sports.......and considering that was A) Resolved and B) PIF now own a massive part of it, it won't be an issue. This is simply the US trying to protect the PGA from having more competition. BIt like the R&A should have done when they (USPGA) came along
I think the new questioning is due to PIF legal team now stating that Yasir Al-Rumayyan is "a sitting minister of the government" with "sovereign immunity", to avoid being embroiled in a US court case. But in doing so, brings into question his association to / separation from SA government. I guess he can't have it both ways to suit the situation.
There are companies that own multiple clubs in the UEFA set up that play each other in comps That's also against UEFA rules. Apparently no one gives a **** about Red Bull outside Germany.
Exactly if this is how wound up they are about us waving some flags around Wembley while losing, wait 'til we start winning some stuff!
That is it yeah. But the US Court in question threw that out, they stated first that PIF does not have any state immunity as it is not part of the state. Now the claim from PIF is, well ok PIF isn't part of the gov, but Al Rumayyan is. But that's not illegal in the Prem. While owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovic was a governor of a Russian state.
This clearly hasn't had the splash AI wanted, Grimsby's result last night is still the more important news on the Beeb site
It's interesting because we didn't hear any uproar whatsoever about the potential Qatar state owned takeover at Man united 2 weeks ago. It was 100% reports about how great it would be for Manchester.
It was all about the plans the buyer's had for man united and the city in the media as a whole ... that was never afforded to Newcastle it was all the negative human rights stories from pillar to post. The thing is there's nothing they can do because the piracy concerns were addressed and it was always that issue not human rights.
Story now up to second on the Beeb site, but still Grimsby Town are more important. Watch that story sliiiiiiiiiide!
It'll take off because people are desperate to hear they can't own newcastle. This to that lot is like when you're 12 and you become aware there's a fight somewhere in school .
We'll probably get a story like this every 6 months or so - ie someone at Amnesty International has smoked too much weed and mistakenly thinks they've found a loophole to take us down.
