Beat me to it. His ‘ego’ would potentially disrupt the entire squad’s spirit and that counts for a lot and part explains where we currently sit in the PL. For me a huge no.
Paul Midgely appointed has Head of Youth Recruitment. Signed from Manchester City where he was a regional scout.
According to some news reports, we'd better stop calling Turkey Teeth bad names as he's desperate to be our next manager
Apparently Liverpool are in talks with Qatari and Saudi consortiums. And the Liverpool fans are all over it. Interesting how they have changed their stance eh. Wonder if the PL block it for 18 months.
That's not accurate. You're welcome to come to the Liverpool board to see the truth if you like. Almost everyone is saying they'd rather be crap than owned by the Saudis. Most fans are not happy. Personally, I don't like any option. Eventually fading into obscurity if we don't get mega rich owners... Or being owned by blood money. I think my left eye will shed tears of joy everytime we buy an insanely overpriced star... And my right eye will cry tears of despair over who our owners now are... I think it's inevitable, that, like you, we will be owned by an oil state before long. I won't stop supporting my team when we do, but that doesn't mean I will be happy about the ownership, even if I'm happy that we suddenly start buying better players.
What I wonder about though is... Say the Sauds get their way and have consortiums take over Man United and Liverpool too. That's City MU NU Chelsea and Liverpool all with owners who are willing to splash cash in the pursuit of glory. Obviously five teams can't all achieve glory even if all five spend like crazy. Some owners are eventually going to get tired of spending money and not getting glory. Ten years from now if all five clubs (or more than five if the buying continues) all have mega rich owners and full of expensive stars... What happens when a rich owner gives up and walks away? Suddenly clubs have payrolls they can't fulfill. There's a long term danger to being short term unsustainably rich.
