Do we seriously think we'll beat the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd to 3/4th next season?

7/8th I think it's a good target. Europa League wouldn't be delusional.

Just try and win every game and don't set maximum target.

Yes Europa would be an improvement, but there's no rule that we couldn't get higher than 7th.

Man U are a ****ing mess right now, Chelsea are going through a huge transition and unlikely to stay the power they were, and Arsenal are nothing like the team of the Wenger days. There's definitely a gap in there that has potential to be exploited, whether it be by us, West Ham, Leicester or whoever.

Understood and agree, target is to finish as high as possible,

I have nothing against people being open to a really high finish, but it's when people have the expectation that this will happen.

I've literally talked to people who say that 8th would be a disappointing finish next season, and not really progress, purely because we're 9th now, which will likely change before the end of the season, as it's highly possible we'll finish 12th after we possibly lose 3/4 of our next games.

But even then I've had someone say jumping from 12th to 8th is not really progress... lol.

Challenging Wolves and WHU for 7/8th would be a good season next season IMO.

All I care about is getting some form of revenge for 96 tomorrow, by derailing the high pitched squeeky voived arseholes and derailing their title charge

Bang on. I think we’ll get it an’all. Confidence likely to be woefully misplaced but for now I think we’ll give them a game and a scare.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but look at the teams around there at the moment. They've been working at it for several years, where as we are only just getting ourselves back on our feet after over a decade of decline.

It's not impossible, and I don't mean to be cynical, but to set your heart on CL football so soon would be foolish.

Aim high mate, we can't win the league next season but we can challenge for champions league places, the league isn't that good after Man City and Liverpool.

Aiming for 8th or something is negative, we are nearly there now after having not won any of the first 14 games ffs.

I know man, and I do believe it it's possible, but just not a min requirement/expectation.

If Eddie is being called to be sacked because we finish 7/8th, then that's a sign that we're getting a bit delusional IMO.

8th should be min requirement, with 7th being very satisfactory.

We cannot expect to be finishing higher than the big 6 considering how long they've been building themselves to this point.

If there were 4 teams of Man City and Liverpool's standard i'd say no way can we get top 4 next season.

But there aren't, and Chelsea will be significantly worse than they are this season.

Two champs league places could be up for grabs and we can be part of those challengers.

I don't expect to be top 4 next season, but we can try.

Did a job for us, but wouldn't want him back now. The games moved into a new era of management and coaching.
