Just seen that Adam Lewis works for the same firm as Nick De Marco. How the hell did he make out he couldn't handle 2 cases at once??????
It’s not the same Firm. It’s the same set of Chambers. In Chambers each person is independent of each other and are simply sharing resources like rooms and admin staff. Still begs the question as to how he can’t just photocopy his preparations of the first case for the second case if the two sets of proceedings were about the same issues. No doubt the photocopier maintenance man couldn’t visit due to COVID-19. You have to say the pandemic has a lot to answer for.
I never seen that one but from what Keith Downie was saying the Prem League have now said all they are waiting for was a definitive proof that state and PIF are separate....... don't know if that's a change of stance from PL or if he's got it wrong but I could swear they had this already.
My understanding is that “we” say irrefutable proof has been given and the PL say it wasn’t satisfied with what they got.
Starting to believe this might actually happen. Let’s hope PIF do indeed intend to come back to the table.
I'm pretty sure that them saying there's no guarantee was a way of ruining the premier leagues entire argument that arbitration will see the takeover go through in which care there's no claim. If they weren't still interested why go to arbitration in the 1st place?, but the premier league have to prove there's a guarantee which they can't. He tried using newspaper reports
I have been up most of the night (sick bug along with a cold now wtf) so have been reading a lot of different news agencies reports. Seems like they all have the gist albeit it’s took it’s bloody time. There is a recognition that there has been wrongdoing. Finally some common sense. I honestly think the judge final comments about thousands of people watching is important and for CAT probably unprecedented for them. Wonder if this might fast track the decision after all. Just need that CAT go ahead.
He said: "Now, of course, we hope that if tomorrow the Premier League came to its senses and reversed the decision, we hope and probably prepare to go forward possibly on similar terms. That’s the carrot to avoid CAT happening at all. "But there is no basis for assuming that PIF will be prepared to wait several more months until 2022 and the outcome of the arbitration and will then go ahead on precisely the same terms. This is to fast track the PL because if they don’t act soon then the CAT will definitely be needed and ARB won’t. "That is the only relevant issue for this tribunal to decide. That CAT is definitely needed right now. "Even if PIF were prepared to go ahead on the same terms, St James will still have a claim it has been kept out of its money for two years. "Given it is several hundred million and two years of compound interest, it is not an inconsiderable sum. Finally the offer. There is compensation regardless of if the takeover is approved. But this is the negotiation part. Approve the takeover and this compensation claim is forgotten about. "One would expect it to run into several million." Just to add context.
We're entering oct with arbitration due in 12 weeks.. This is the end game now and I expect things to be resolved before January
this. They need to save face and that will happen. The real facts won’t come out. We all know the Saudis are still there. Our QC used the fact that this isn’t guaranteed to crank up the pressure. arb won’t take long at all imho. On that basis the PL will be completing the formalities as we speak I think. The PL have far too much to lose now. And Ashley has nothing to lose as he’s already lost it.
