Just thinking out loud. NUFC has been pushing for arbitration to be made public. The PL has resisted. So what can Ashley do? Bypass arbitration by applying to CAT - an independent public tribunal free from PL influence. Come arbitration what is the best way to cause a lengthy delay? An issue with disclosure of evidence. Delays matters for months. In the meantime what happens? The concurrent CAT case runs, the PL cannot rely on arbitration to have the case thrown out or delayed and Ashley and the consortium get their public hearing. As it is CAT the issues are wider than separation and the PL are required to disclose everything relating to the claim. CAT has already granted two extensions due to arbitration. No longer relevant. Ashley plays Bird and Bird. Bingo.

Me too. But the whole “we did this deliberate” thing I don’t buy whatsoever. I have even considered it myself: but there’s one factor that stands out above all else. PIF are totally silent. AS was only the other day shouting for transparency. MA wanted it also. He wanted it resolved in July. And now he just sits back, accepts a minimum six month delay on his 305m. Just to “try” and oust the PL. Come on, your an intelligent chap but that’s far reaching. Even MG said that the PL are playing games?
Think about it. CAT will be heard before arbitration. What has everyone wanted? A public, transparent hearing. They now get thst. The PL has been granted two extensions due to preparing for arbitration. That is now a long time away. They won't get another extension. The club statement. Calm and measured. Not like previous ones condemning the PL. CAT happens first and everything is public. Ashley wins then arbitration does not happen.
I have thought about it. And what your saying does make some “absurd” sense however. Your not thinking about the flip side: It’s always about pro takeover. But what if this is just conjecture. So I flip it, think about it. Take them rose tinted bias glasses off. MA wants the money. He wants out. He couldn’t gives a **** about transparency. He doesn’t want to spend a penny. MG said the PL are playing games. PIF are totally silent. Six months in football can do a lot of damage. It’s a risky strategy. The PL have made it very clear that they don’t want this. Piracy. Human rights. Murder. The top six want a super league: they couldn’t give a **** about lowly barcodes. I could go on and on.
I would yes except for one thing. We are talking about top legal professionals. They play games to get a result. The High Court case - it was a tactical defeat to get information about the arbitration panel released. Delaying arbitration - a tactical move to prioritise CAT. The High Court narrowed the scope of arbitration to separation. Nothing more. CAT is far wider. It allows Ashley to effectively annihilate the PL in public. All evidence is there for the public to hear. Any wrongdoing is exposed in public.
Outside of our close connection with this where we are unfortunately self-invested the points I make are a outsiders points made specifically to myself. We think that we deserve the truth and that we demand the PL to yield but externally we are coming across as being bitter, self absorbed fools. I sit on the fence. But this notion that after 17 ****ing months and an additional 6 minimum at best is some part of a well thought out plan is just ****ing bonkers. There s ever been a takeover in the history of mankind that has gone on this long. And PIF get what they want. But not after licking someone’s arse for 23 months. Thats just not how they play. So for the love of god accept that this **** show may actually have sailed. peace. (Microphone drops)
And we can all like the positive (blind) posts but ignore the factual (unwanted posts) and just blindly walk like lemmings towards total purgatory if we want. That’s everyone’s choice. Me personally I’m just going to watch it play out and support the team. Takeover or no takeover hopefully we still have something to support!
