If ever anybody doubts the reach of Newcastle United, see how many articles or Tweets there were referencing #saintstakeover.....
None I imagine. Tiny club us though, right? Truth is Bin Salman can buy every club in the league, but he chose little ol Newcastle
It doesn't. That is some arbitrary guide that the press have come up with. We should stick to facts: PCP/ Cantervale has allowed a legal charge against their assets in favour of St James Holdings (company that owns NUFC.) Amanda Staveley has been appointed director of JV1 alongside the Reubens BROTHERS. JV1 can only be the purchase of 20% shares in NUFC. A joint venture project. NCUK Limited has appointed three directors, two of whom are the CEO and Governor of Public Investment Fund (PIF). This company is to take 80% shares in NUFC. The legal charge confirms payment of a minimum deposit of £13,000,000 payable to St James Holdings. It also allows St James to recover losses from the assets of PCP/ Cantervale. The legal charge references Staveley's ongoing court case against Barclays, worth an estimated £1.6 billion in relation to satisfaction of a vendor loan. Vendor loan within the charge allows for a quick sale to speed the process up. Documents were filed at Companies House on 9th April by PCP/ Cantervale and St James Holdings. A process was initiated on that date. On 9th April, the PIF CEO was appointed director and this was filed with Companies House. It did not get updated until last week. A fit and proper owners test cannot commence until all directors to be scrutinised are appointed. The fit and proper persons test has commenced. Evidence? The PL response to Amnesty International. Otherwise, why respond!? Complaints have filed and are considered. They slow the process down. There has been no comment from anyone. Why? The logical conclusion is an NDA. Manchester City sale took 22 days. We are on day 25 during a global pandemic. People are working from home with the added burden of home life, logistical nightmares, lengthy queries, slower working practices. The PL is also trying to resolve the current season. That will take valuable resources, particularly in respect of their legal team who will be asked to research the law in relation to a number of outcomes. The legal team are also responsible for scrutinising the complaints received in relation to copyright infringement. The conclusion - It is most definitely happening and is taking time because of the circumstances. Patience is required.
Nobody knows what's going on, I think it'll take longer than expected but I'd guess some news may start to surface end of week or into next, in terms of Companies House stuff.
Daily checking seems pointless. But that's the problem with the interweb. The immediacy of news has killed patience. If this had been 1990 we'd only hear when The Chron wrote about it the next day. In 2000 it would be the BBC's website. But since 2010 it's been Twitter and ludicrous demands followed by panic-stricken abuse when no news magically appears.
People are desperate to get rid of Ashley. Whether happens now or in 3 months makes no difference. Football will not resume before September.
They got £15M and Carroll for a past-his-best Torres. It was Chelsea who got really screwed on that deal.
Of course it won't. The PL would be much better served coming up with novel ideas for keeping morale up. A mini friendly tournament for TV only around June would be cool, like a 5-a-side thing. But to keep pushing the inevitable decision of "the league is postponed" is typical yellow-bellied, corporate greed. France have set the bar. Our league is well placed to just have decisions made today and put all of our efforts into restarting in September. I mean, it's barely four ****ing months away, what the **** is the big deal? Villa/Norwich deserve to go down, European places distributed in current positions also makes sense (it was entirely likely one of the top teams would win the FA Cup anyway). Liverpool won the title at a canter. Similarly, Leeds/West Brom weren't getting caught and the play-offs should be ****ing scrapped anyway. Honest to God, I just don't have the faintest idea what the problem is.
