They’ve already issued statements saying they’re not having it. this isn’t about a SL anyway, it’s about those clubs trying to squeeze UEFA’s balls before the vote on the expanded CL which would see them all virtually guaranteed a place every year. Greedy Yank ****s are behind this.

 

It isn't up to them though. FIFA, UEFA, The FA and The Premier League have all already said they can't be in both

UEFA have said that those Clubs would not be allowed into the European competitions. The PL have to nominate who is entered and have said those Clubs won’t be nominated. The ESL would just be a self contained League.

The key is to make sure the sponsors don’t back it. If the sponsors don’t back it then it would be a quick death.

Also would need to make sure TV companies don’t show it. It will be an argument between genuine fans and arm chair fans. The likes of Sky and BT and Amazon need to be made aware by fans and Leagues that if if they show ESL games then they will be made pariahs and tv contracts will be cancelled and subscriptions cancelled.

Sadly this is an inevitable outcome of having clubs run by oligarchs, billionaires and national states. They neither understand or care about the roots of football or the community element of clubs. They see the names as brands and franchises to invest in and make money. Fans go along with it because of the success it brings. I don't blame those fans. We're no better as we also got excited about it as this thread proves. It isn't football though.

They'll get their way with the champions league reform and people will be like that's not so bad

The clubs have a lot to answer for here. It’s called “bringing the game into disrepute”.
