I gave up years ago and I wasn't fooled when we fluked 5th I knew it was a one off.. Until the clubs aim is to try and do well I don't see it offers me value... I'm many things but I'm not a mug. I'm sure there's thousands are quite content and that fine keep going, but don't go and complain its silly.
Although I get what your saying it’s not a simple as that. Supporting nufc is a marriage. You can’t just switch it off. Hence the reason why we all post on here. We care.
Me to. I gave mine up when I had my 2nd kid. But I was always sceptical when he did the locking in season ticket prices deal. It’s hard to accept how bad we are ran.
I still care, but really I felt going and complaining to be moronic. If I go and see a film I don't like I don't complain on the way out, all week on social media and then come back and pay for another viewing. If you go fair enough, but go be get behind the club don't boo and moan.
The price lock was a con to make people think it was value for money. Ashley is far from an astute businessman.
When we fluked fifth I remember saying at the time that when you looked at the performances we didn’t really dominate any of the games. Ashley hated the fact we finished fifth aswell. It meant he had to play in Europe which meant more cost. And he didn’t want to invest in players to support it.
The last sentence is spot on. I've lost a lot of interest although that's indicative of how I feel about football in general. For a long while I've only watched Newcastle and that's it. Now that is even waning ill have to find a new interest
We gamble on signings every year and that year the clubs luck was in... The signings nobody else wanted actually worked and in conjunction with that clubs like Chelsea had their worst season in 15 years... The standard was low.
Didn't we have next to no injuries that year too? That squad was a decent squad that masked a lot of Pardews deficiencies. I remember seeing a stat saying we were the worst football team in the entire pyramid in 2013 and 2014. Thanks to him
You see the Big Match on TV. Repeats of games from the 70's and 80's. I watch and think this is the game that I fell in love with. Modern football is ****e.
Hardly any. The first 11 had good balance. Old 4-4-2 with the right players in the right holes. As a football club we have just fallen apart since then. Failure after failure.
It is and even watching Man City atm. They are just dominating everything and it’s because they have spent net 2 billion in the last however many years. When you compare that to everyone else. It’s ****. Im starting to wonder if the European league is a good idea and they can all **** off so the rest of us can play with level playing fields. Having said that under Ashley it would still be ****.
Once interest in the premier league went global it was the end because these fans are sold the big six essentially.. They're not intersted in the other clubs. I think they've let Aston villa and Everton join in a bit, but I personally feel than within a few years grounds will start emptying.. Nufc fans have been shown the future of football for clubs like ours, but I think fans of the other clubs will soon get fed up.. The only difference is their owners aren't quite so brutal and they make them think they matter at least Newcastle United is just like a journeyman boxer that sells alot tickets. How many years of the big 6 sharing out the trophies will it take before fans start losing interest? Some might say never, but I think otherwise. Football just like formula one will lose its appeal.
It's not a good idea because they won't **** off mate. That's not at all the plan. The plan is to stay in the premier league, abolish the qualification process for European money The plan is to remove the opportunity for investing in smaller clubs to compete. It's the death of hope forever for any club not in the closed shop European competition.
So they want the best of both worlds. That kind of format will never happen. I can’t see it working. It has to be based on league placings for Europe. It would be pointless trying to progress. What would be the point?
Yes that's the aim it's not I repeat not to leave the premier league They stay and nobody can ever get in what would replace the champions league. That means the other clubs wouldn't benefit from finishing high on the table because there is no extra money on offer for doing it. It basically means they'd be burning millions of pounds trying to finish higher in the league and they'd be guaranteed to lose it all. It's not a great deal different to what exists actually, but no takeovers would happen and nobody would bother trying to win anything.. They'll all just be sold the you're in the premier league ****e for eternity.
