Bruce only got that salary offer because they knew he would take the job no matter the situation. They gambled and were right.

The management climate was far worse when we hired Bruce compared to now, everyone half decent were employed, the rest were just starting jobs in the Championship or looked absolutely safe in the Premier League jobs, so it was really difficult.

I think we first went for Gerrard according to rumours, but as we can see from the fantastic job he's now done there, he was right to bide his time and win a trophy before he leaves Rangers. We got so low that we even went to Fat Sam again and he turned us down for obvious historic reasons.

I can see why they went for Bruce, offered him the contract they did and hoped for the best. It somehow worked last season but, they must surely act now. Somewhere, Charnley knows what he's doing, he hired Rafa in the first place. If they sacked him tomorrow and brought in Howe or Pearson until we had a takeover he's done a fantastic job, I would actually go for Pearson because he's no nonsense and can organise a team properly. We need to learn to grind out results properly and not the Bruce way.

 

Whoever comes in if they've failed to sniff out lacelles as a con man then il want them out from day 1

Woah, woah, woah - no he ****ing doesn't. Rafa actually got in touch with NUFC and said "I'll do the job". From there it was a no brainer. As George Caulkin pointed out, there's noone of that calibre sounding the club out. I don't believe even Charnley is stupid enough to think "WOW, Mark Hughes is available, let's go for it".

Howe doesn't do "homesick". Barton hates Ashley. Most other ex-NUFC have called out the owner. Thanks to Ashley, in every conceivable way, we're ****ed yet again.

I have to say that every single name I see fans wanting to replace Bruce so far has has absolute crap... I mean it's desperate stuff... Howe, Pearson, Barton, Hughes.. I mean ffs get a grip man.
