Apparently an architect working on plans a few years back suggested that it is possible. If carried around the ground it would add about 6,000 seats.
Not sure it's really necessary really... I mean 60 k would be more than enough and I'm sure they could do something with the east stand just to tidy it up and perhaps increase it slightly. It would still look amazing anyway but a little odd having that tiny east stand slapped on the end of it...
For the sake of 6/7,000 extra seats is it really worth it? If we were doing a big expansion of say 15-20,000 maybe but for 7,000 seats costing presumably millions how long would it take those to pay back however much it costs? Would anyone have a estimated cost for this work? Video looks good but taking the roof down, rebuilding the stand and putting the new roof on won't be cheap. It's about £50-70,000 for a loft extension on your house so presume this would cost in the millions?
I suspect the plans they had would've been more about modernising it and giving it a lick of paint to be honest....
I've pointed this out numerous times but those mps in London are London focused. The north east are not discriminated against. The rest of the whole of UK is discriminated against. Take those chips off your shoulder.
Yes I never said it was only newcastle they've shafted throughout the history of this countries existence
However the average house price for a 2 bed house in Newcastle is £210000. I'm on the fringe of London and own a 2 bed house. It's value is £400000. So in a 25 year mortgage I'm paying around £8000 a year for the privilege of what? A better transport system? Higher beer prices? The fireworks in central London to bring in the New Year?
I'd pay that premium for the fireworks alone. We didn't even have a display in our town in 2019, had to rely on the neighbours. You don't know how lucky you are.
