That's one way of looking at it. The other is he found a buyer who justifiably pulled out because of PL procrastination. They were effectively saying we don't want them to buy the club as we don't like them. Up to you whether you want to now sell to someone else. By doing this though they have significantly weakened the club. We now have an owner who wants out, so will put even less time and money into the club, while he tries to find a new buyer. Only hope is he realises it is imperative we stay in PL if he wants to achieve his objective. The other thing is that all clubs will have decreased in value since he started selling up - loss of TV revenue due to payback agreed with Sky, supposedly 300million means 15million less for each club, plus loss of attendance and match-day income and the additional financial risk that the ongoing pandemic brings. If I was the prospective buyer I would be looking at a significant reduction on the original sale price. I suspect any new deal will take a while to go through.
Bloody hell - its been a bad 24hrs for you. You should report it to the police and/or start a thread on Mumsnet.
im just wondering how much we will here about human rights and Saudi once this calms down? Perhaps the media should now turn their focus to the money this country gets from Saudi in other areas ? surely this victory will encourage them all to go further.
From football fans probably not a lot. From the people who have always raised human rights issues in Saudi - the same amount as previously. You cant blame them for using this opportunity of Saudi Arabia being in the spotlight to raise these issues. You can also understand the PL being reluctant to attract the bad PR that might be associated with it.
We will here nothing about it.. Just as before is the point.. I said early on anyone thats been fighting human right vocally or paid some money towards it before the takeover started I'm all ears. Tbh I think masters being a villa fan was the biggest issue Newcastle really is a hated club. Imagine them becoming super rich... Never going to be allowed.. Stop at all costs
If someone came in with as much wealth as PIF/SA would they sail through? Think I said back in April if I was the Saudis and getting so much flack they'd say " **** this let's buy Leeds",haha
For what it's worth ivd emailed and signed the petition. Seen a few saying what's the point, but obvs there is one Sign it. Do our bit..
I genuinely believe the Saudis will buy another English club in time. Think Leeds Qatar takeover is going through before that though. I said west ham might be the one and I think that's strong possibility.. London club, big history similar to ours...
Here it is It's waste of time but she's asked so I have. Obvs the threat of an independent investigation scaring masters into accepting the structure as it stands is the only hope.
The worst thing about this whole affair? The bogs which will sink into further disrepair. The bogs are that Villa fans fault.
I just think it's mental to think Human rights - no problem Piracy - not an issue The other clubs don't want it to happen - game over
