Think of it, LoL. You're a DM hack who's been given Leeds (and probably other, more minor clubs) as part of your reporting remit. There has been all sorts of controversy for years & lots of easy stories with no effort required. All of a sudden, things start going ok for Leeds, but your Editor is still expecting the same prolific output that you've been producing for years. What do you do? Think we all would do the same in his position - you make it up, and carefully word it so you don't get sued. Oh, and avoid sources & quotes at any cost - mainly because there aren't any! <yikes>

    Quite simple really.

Would love to hear an alternative account for this nonsense. Can only think so something along the lines of he was Cellino's secret lover & they've had a tiff, or something equally nonsensical. <doh>

Its not front page news though. Small paragraph in middle of other stuff. The number of followers of lufc on twitter ensures these "stories" get plenty of mileage for whoever comes up with them.
    Anyone could write the following
Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is thought to be considering a Serie B project
The ex-Cagliari supremo could start a new project in the second tier Serie B.
Not one ounce of evidence supplied to back up the story

Well I alluded to where I think these stories originate from. Feeds the ego.

Tell you one that might even have legs if someone runs with it.

"President Massimo Cellino, unhappy with team selection/performance, has brought experienced CB, Pontus Jansson into the club.
Manager Garry Monk is unhappy with new signing as he doesn't fit in with the type of football he wants to play.
This was made clear when Jansson was not selected yesterday for a squad that has shipped 6 goals in 3 league matches so far this season.
Monk has already tried to move on Murphy & Diagouraga for the same reason.
It is expected that Monk will return Jansson to his club in January, however it is thought more likely that Cellino will have already sacked him by then".

Or something like that ..... :D

Whilst that is a fantastically funny post you could not have thought that up for any other club, so deep down it's something that could possibly happen. Again though I do accept your point <laugh>

No because if you were really good you would have picked up on how Cellino made Monk pick Doukara so we could put him in the shop window ;)
