Love him or not Laurence Bassinis time with the club has been very interesting. Even with nothing else he has given the club a stable base. We may still have no money but at least there is no directors fighting each other and threats of dragging the administrators to the club.

The WO website story confirms that Bas has put the club up for sale with the Italians as most likely buyers. He says wants to spend more time with his family.More likely he has reached the limit of his resources --bills are not being paid and the bond payments not met. He cannot fund working capital, ground improvements and the bond repayments at the same time. His erratic behaviour continues to the end, and a mist of confusion surrounds the circumstances of the sale. Even so he might end up by making a profit on the whole episode since he bought the club for nothing and so far has financed the bond payments from player sales (i.e.with the clubs money not his own). He might sell the club and keep the pub--he is happier running that sort of business.

If the new owners are to be the Italians it is hard to fathom their motives or intentions, or guess how they might run the club. Not so much a football club, more a football.

Good comment Roger.

An erratic untrustworthy man....

Honestly, what is the point of this....the sooner he disappears the better in my opinion. As long as Dyche is given the chance he deserves to build upon his performance last year then this sale can only be a good thing for the club.

Amusing how they have closed the comments on the Wobby article too... We all know how they would go!

He just seems someone who is very spoilt and rather petulant! A 'it's my ball, I'm taking it home' attitude!

This sort of thing does nothing for his PR.....

The basis for his legal action seems to be that SSN reported an extraordinary board meeting took place on Friday but it was actually just a meeting with some of his fellow directors PLUS they reported that staff had not been paid. I seem to remember that they reported that as an unsubstantiated rumour at the time. His case seems pretty flimsy.

Not a football man and apparently his daughter does not want to watch the beautiful game on a Saturday either. If he does not get it best off out of it.

I think what we got from out of Bassini's tenure at Watford is that he is a very opinionated character who very easily falls out with people, and who have very, very poor PR skills, especially judging by his legal action against Sky Sports News announced today. It seems that the Pozzi's have real experience of running football clubs in more than one country. If they arrive, it will be a positive thing for the club

anyone speak Italian?

From Babylon - In England today (the BBC website, this morning) have unveiled a deal that was going on in secret for a long time: Pozzo is to buy the Watford, would be the fourth club owned after Udinese, Granada and Cadiz. If you do so, the project would rely on the pair Nani-Zola , already together at West Ham. Gianluca Nani would be the point of reference management and Zola the manager.

doesnt look good for Sean does it 10 months ago I was calling for his head , Now I`m gutted , he doesnt deserve this.:(

glad about possible financial security! so if all the staff are going to be italian , time we learnt the language, cant help feeling were going to lose a certain connection with the club again though!

The Supporters Trust chairman (John Fawell) is being interviewed by Roberto Perrone on 3CR from 5.00pm UK time.

Why will Dyche lose his job, He has done a great job, and surely the new owners will see that.

Oh dear, he knows nothing. Spoke to Baz, who seemed rather down, just over a week ago and he didn't tell him what was going on. When asked did he believe what Baz said he huffed and puffed and said that Baz wasn't media savvy. Suggested to him that because he put his foot in his mouth when he spoke, he shouldn't make public statements. Interviewer gave the impression that he had been given a dummy to speak to.

He can't just sack a manager straight away, the fans will never forgive him.
