Only three houses to go,when SL does decide to buy them watch the Atyeo grow and become part of the three other stands, however a 40000+ stadium will need prem football to even get close to filling it.
'the only chance we have off persuading the council to allow us would be to change the direction of the sun' Priceless.
I don't know where you get your info from but I know of someone who recently offered their house for sale to BCFC and they did not want to know
They wouldn't would they! Anyone offering their house to BCFC is doing so probably for financial gain, if the house is for sale there are many ways to buy it without paying a loaded price and informing the rest of the street you intend buying them up.
Wheels within wheels I reckon If is as rumoured City are quietly acquiring these properties, not even they would be stupid enough to advertise the fact that Mr S Lansdown has put in an offer....
I accept that it is possible that SL could be operating under the radar but given the total cost I cant really understand why given the money previously written off. Still I have put out a few feelers so lets see what happens. Personally I hope he is buying.
Would have thought it was obvious, last man standing in that rank has the potential to sit there or become a very wealthy person from demanding a lot of money. I actually don't believe they are trying to buy them anyway. demolishing them could be full of pitfalls and demonstrations and legal challenges, I reckon the club has written off the idea myself.
Haven't heard a lot about the planned "developments" on the Ashton Vale site. Perhaps he will offer them new houses there !!
There is a downside to it though, if your home is valued at say 100k and someone pays 110k then the 10k is classed as capital gains so heavily taxed. Likewise if you buy a house at today's price for your kids and they want to buy it off you in 10 years time, they have to pay the market value as that is also classed as capital gains. Plus I think the most expensive cash gift is £5k otherwise that is capital gains. This sum might be raised now I only know this because when my Nan went into a home she wanted us to have some of her savings before the goverment took it all as payment towards the home fees. (**** me MTG will be on this bandwagon now!) Either way the tax man is the only winner.
According to the land registry records starting in 1995 there are 5 houses which were last sold before 1995. I think he took over as Chairman in 2002 so the three figure looks suspect
