I guess we aren't going to agree.

You think gaining an unfair advantage on all your competitors is fine, I think it is cheating.

1521 Rangers make an early substitution, as Ross Perry comes on for injured giant Romanian defender Dorin Goian. BBC Scotland's Chick Young says: "Rangers are all over the place"

    Go on yourself Chick <laugh>

Where did I say gaining an unfair advantage was fine?

So doing something that for 10 years that was perfectly acceptable to HMRC was gaining an unfair advantage? Now that they want to dispute it, I would call it a serious kick in the baws.

This is exactly why you should familiarise yourself with how Rangers used ebt's.

At no time ever did the tax man endorse this practice.

(Pause for effect).....Never. Not once, they didn't ever at any point in time even intimate it was ok.

Now you must agree that should Rangers fail in the tribunal, they will have gained an advantage over all their competitors?

The tax man has no need to endorse EBT's. They exist for the purpose in which they are used.

(Pause for effect)... I must have missed my courtesy call from HMRC where they endorse or otherwise intimate how my taxes are structured is ok. I didn't know they did that.

What is happening is that HMRC has decided to have a look at EBT's and therefore there will be tax disputes, not only with Rangers, but with all other companies in the UK that use them or have used them. This is how HMRC operates (IR35 being another example).

To say that should Rangers lose the tribunal it means they cheated, but if they win it means they didn't, is patent nonsense. It means nothing more than a won/lost tax dispute. It happens. (IR35).

This is getting circular. It's clear we're not going to agree on this issue. We've both said so. Let's shake hands and move on.
