I have the formation below in my head as something i think would work for us, based on current availabilty

................................Patto

Hume.........Seelt................Ballard......09

...............................Neil
...................Ekwah..........Adil

Rusyn.................Hemir.............Clarke

433, playing more direct to Hemir / down the channels for Clarke and Rusyn. Neil as the CDM with Ekwah and Adil as more roaming No.8's

If Pembele is match fit, then he could be a good attacking full back option, when he signed he was described as an attacking wing/full back

I do believe we need to go at them high up and get them on the back foot

I was thinking of this. Mainly in the interest of trying something different that defences won't be expecting rather than for anything clever tactically beyond having better balance and having players to get crosses in and someone to get on the end of them.

Patterson

Hume..Seelt..Ballard..O'Nien

Clarke..Neil..Ekwah..Ba

Hemir..Rusyn

Interesting all 3 of us have gone with 2 or 3 up front and disposed of the 10 role

I want us to focus on two things, putting crosses in on their natural foot, without having to cut inside and kill the move more often than not, and getting bodies in the box. That's also what stops attacks in their tracks when Clarke looks up and there's nobody there to cross to.

It doesn't seem like Pritchard or Adil as good as they are help much with that.

I think it'd stop Clarke scoring as many but he'd still be a threat and it might get the two lads up top scoring. They aren't going to do it feeding off scraps.

The main flaw is that we all know that Jobe will play <laugh><laugh>
I like him but he really does seem to slow us down in the middle - he only seems to do a one touch pass when it's straight back to where it came from.

There has been the odd occasion where he has burst forward with the ball at his feet and ive sat thinking i could be watching his brother playing. Only a few times, but you can see it in small glimpses.

Im not convinced him playing every game so far has done him any favours

Time for a change in tactics. We've been told Seelt can play CDM so let's put him in there and push Neil up the pitch

Patterson
Hume Ballard O'Nien Pembele
Seelt
Ba Pritchard Neil Clarke
Rusyn

Subs: Bishop, Triantis, Ekwah, Matete, Aouchche, Jobe, Bennette, Burstow, Mayenda

Not bad that but why not just swap seelt and Onien. I think Onien could play D/M and play Seelt as a centre half.

I suggested going with 3 CBs against Hull and the consensus seemed to be that was too defensive. We're leaking at the back lately, anyway to keep a clean sheet would be good, try and catch teams on the break, the front two have pace, worth a crack.

Our issue against Hull wasn't the defensive side of things, it was decision making in the final third and a few official errors that cost us.

We dominated the game.
