I will look at the French press as we haven't heard from Adel have we? I wish a lot of people wouldn't react to Harold's mouth ... It really is very big Of course Adel won't play for us again now and anyone who seriously thinks that's good is a numpty IMO He would worry the crap out if any team and the only player I guess that an opposition would target with a game plan ... From what I have seen if redknapp's QPR ... Let us pass it about sideways sit and watch ... and wait your chance as we will cock up
Well DT, sometimes you are very left field - but you fell off the end of the world with that statement! He may have great talent - but should an uncommitted player be allowed to do has he likes at the club? If a lesser talented player did it, you'd want him kicked out. If you aren't prepared to even do training, when the club made it clear fitness was a main requirement, you are dissing the club, yourself and the fans. There was always going to be an impass in AT's football life - here at QPR, or at another club. I hope, very much, he sees the writing on the wall (and the 'light') and comes back and knuckles down to fitness training and pushes himself into the team. Truth is, it probably won't happen. Skilled -Yes. Professional? - definitely not. Blaming Harry - is blindness. AT is the root cause of this 'situation'.
If Harold had said "I have failed to convince Adel that getting fit and playing for QPR to the best of his ability is his best chance of getting a move to a big club. He's a stubborn lad who is, I believe, badly advised, but I must take my share of the blame for this situation" my opinion of him (Harold) would have risen. But he's never taken responsibility for anything except successes to the best of my recollection. Beth, we are paying Harold something above £2m a year - he took a pay cut from his £3.5 million, but I bet I'm being very generous (i.e. way too low) with that estimate. I am certain that this is much more than any other Championship manager. A nice safe season free from relegation worries is setting the bar way too low. If we have a bad start, or are way off the pace at Christmas I would expect him to resign. This does us no good of course, because we know some stability is vital. The time for a change was 6 weeks ago.
Sorry Stan disagree...I must admit a bad start worries me...we could implode, and then it all fall apart like last season did spectacularly after the Wigan equaliser. Going straight up is not good news to me either as we will be very unprepared. A season of consolidation is what we need, I believe...weed out the poor and uncommitted players (A few seem on their way...v good), build a back bone of strength, build a team spirit (most important), get a few youngsters flying. A solid start and a strong 2014 part of the season...I will be happy
I totally respect your view however I believe it's part of the big problem ... his mouth and the reaction we as fans give to that ... personally I believe a manager must lead of course and Adel off the pitch is a real pain so that takes us onto the pitch where the important stuff happens ... somehow i believe we need to be playing a lot better football in the QPR style and for me that includes Adel ... Harold is not a bad man and i will support him and the shirt 100% from Saturday. I am not keen on Harold's football at QPR so far that's in a nutshell. I have zero faith in his man management and that would never change because of his own ego ... He blames everyone other than himself ... that is not correct IMO
I totally agree with what you want, but we have entirely the wrong manager to achieve this. I'd be delighted to rebuild under a young manager for a couple of seasons, but the only point of Harold is first time promotion, which as you say leaves us where we were 2 years ago. Lets see who he brings in next week and how we are set up vs Sheff Weds.
So he can see that Zamora and Johnson are useless.
if fit these two will destroy defences in the championship, both will score about 15 goals each
if fit these two will destroy defences in the championship, both will score about 15 goals each
Agree there if they can stay fit these two will surprise this board
Having read through the other comments on this thread I think I'm the only person that interprets Redknapp's quote differently. My reading of this is that many clubs recognise that Taarabt is high maintenance and are perhaps fighting shy of taking a punt on the lad. Redknapp is not saying that he's desperate to sell and somebody simply has to take him off his hands, he's saying that Taarabt to leave requires somebody to actually want to acquire his services; the implication being that this has not occurred, despite the best efforts of the media to suggest otherwise. As I've said elsewhere, I think it's time to make him somebody else's problem, but share the concern about getting a replacement 'provider' in. We seem to support the club's stance against the money-motivated, under-performing mercenaries in the squad, but are willing to tolerate the endless indiscipline, petulance and immaturity of one player. Yes, Taarabt is talented and a match winner on his day, but where and when is that next day?
Do you know, I've tried to remain neutral about Harry up to now, but I tend to agree with you. All his comments about our club sound as though they're from someone who is on the OUTSIDE rather than someone who BELONGS!! Worrying times imo.
if fit these two will destroy defences in the championship, both will score about 15 goals each
I've just spat my tea all over the laptop!! Hilarious statement! (AJ may do ok, but carthorse?.................No chance!!)
I really couldnt be arsed to list the dozens of things hes done wrong. Your answer was much simpler and more to the point.
Harry doesn't seem to motivate, man-manage or develop. What is it that he gives us? Anyone with half a grey cell would see that Taarabt is flawed but just about manageable. If he wasn't flawed then we wouldn't have him. As it is, we have a player that could be the difference between promotion or obscurity. Can someone buy Redknapp a copy of Warnock's autobiography - might give him a few pointers.
