Our playmaker is one of the best in the premier league and thats where we are playing are we not? . The premier league is the top football league in the world I hope you can see further than Wigan. At times lads we don't actually know what we have got ... You have half the posters on here wanting our squad to be changed, We have people slagging off Taarabt when he has shown his quality this season already. So what if SAF rates him? ... well sort of my point that he may buy him. Adel has got his head down for one reason or another this season and shut a few traps up on here.
I made a opinion and I can see it happening... I hope it doesn't but something is up here ... it's contrived

He had Modric, and Adel was has come a long way way since then. But won't be surprised if Harry lets him go if we get offered a huge amount.

Because Col is correct on this issue. You base your opinions on what you see, I have see a lot of players in my time and some stand out Taarabt is one of them. ****ing Gera or Odemwinge Christ! that sort of ruins the dog's point doesn't it .... Stick a poll up if you are so confident ... Taarabt, Odemwinge (who is not a playmaker) or Gera ... **** a duck what sort of people are you?

Must have been in training. <doh>

I agree. He rates Macheda too so I wouldn't read too much into it.

The thing is I've consistently said that I think Adel is one of, if not the, most dangerous players we have: his vision and, at times, his movement, like at certain junctures of the Wigan game are extremely good. There is no doubt that he is an very skillful player capable of providing the killer pass. But, IMO, none of this adds up to Man UTd quality. And to place him into the class of Mata etc, as DT3 seems to be doing is simply ridiculous.

Not really when you consider its a number of years since he left. Yes he's improved a bit but he's still doing his silly little step-overs, not releasing the ball, not able to pass, very little vision, poor decision making, poor set-pieces (he cleared the first man v Wigan to be fair), very poor finishing, poor concentration levels (eg 1st goal at Wigan).......the list is endless.

In 3 or 4 years, surely you'd expect a player - if he's as good as you say he is - to have ironed out some of that stuff?

I'm sorry Ozzie but he's just a good Championship player. That's just my honest opinion.

You seem to be suggesting that I'm a Taarabt hater or some such nonsense. My posts, including that on this thread, pretty much consistently state that I consider Adel an important and skillful player. However, I don't think this automatically adds up to him being a top, top player of the class that Man Utd are looking for.

Ah well shame you don't enjoy Swords - if you think Adel has "very little vision" you must be bored to tears watching football!

Should have put this in my previous post. My Wigan posts were generally appreciative of Taarabt's contribution (passing;movement;also disagreed with his substitution) to the Wigan game!! That was precisely my point: recognising his positive aspects still doesn't blind me from the negative aspects of his game.

I'm surprised Adel doesn't want out. Although he's been my favourite player for the past few years I wouldn't want to see him back in the NPC.

Could do worse than selling him and Granero in January and buying a decent striker and centre back. We have Hoillett, Mbia, Diakite, Faurlin, Derry, Park and SWP who can play their roles. Really hope Adel gets a big move to France or Italy and as for Granero anywhere will do, very overrated player imo.

Unusually I completely disagree with you on this goldie.
In my opinion, playing for your country is the ultimate goal for all players and I would not blame him at all for going. The ACON is a right pain, but that's not the players' fault.

I actually think it's really unfair to ask a player not to represent his country in a major tournament. A friendly....absolutely.....but not a tournament. I would hope that Harry has given him the choice and will respect his decision.

It had to happen, Col! As I said earlier, if ACON was every four years, I'd agree with you. But two tournaments in as many years...I think it asks too much of the players and their clubs, particularly where a club is fighting for its continued existence in the top flight

I wouldn't be surprised if Adel goes to Arsenal as Wenger splashes the cash in a defiant last stand. He'll be in a team of spineless losers there and will eventually end up in France where his heart is...

As I said many times, Wenger wouldn't touch him with a bargepole, nor would any top Manager.

Goldie, we knew he played for an African team when we signed him. There's no use signing a load of African players and then crying foul when the ACON comes around.

Have we any other African players that might be going?
