Mmm.......I'm still on the fence and although I suspect that you're correct, I remain hopeful that you're not!
Consider this - those odious creeps Ecclestone and Briatore oversaw a promotion to the premiership with an aging manager, a near non existant youth policy, shabby facilities and no debt (as far as I can remember), albeit with a team which was thought to need a near total rebuild. Fernandes has done the same and in the process also run up a debt of £200m (at least). Unlike Imaz and Danish I rather like Fernandes as a personality. And to be fair he is a truly modern entrepreneur, he can't help that, and I think he believes he is doing the right thing.
Sorry mate, was not my intention! And take all my comments with a pinch of salt at the moment, I am in the midst of a hellish run of travel (about 5 nights at home out of 25) and am knackered and as always when staying away, fat, though enjoying myself. I tend to go OTT in these conditions. Actually take all of my posts with a pinch of salt all the time. Off topic, but I think you will know - will the Remembrance Day events be held on the 9th November (Sunday before 11th) this year? I'll be in Berlin on that day, and it is also the anniversary of the Wall coming down, be interesting to see if there is any recognition of the Great War there.
I think TF is just a very modern type of businessman - embraces technology and lives life at 100mph. My fear with someone like him (not that I know many multi-millionaires) could be a tendency to get bored when things don't go his way and potentially abandon one idea for the next in order to get the next adrenaline rush. Consolidation and careful planning are not his forte, I suspect, although I have little doubt that there has been significant investment in all of his promises. I think football ownership would probably be quite high up the list of entrepreneurial highs and so I think he will persevere for a good while yet (longer still if some of the plans come to fruition). I like him but think there are a few inherent risks of being driven by a man such as him.
TF sorry but I don't see a lot of improvement on transfers but it is catch 22 as we have to buy in a team as I have said from day one. We have purchased younger players for sure but I have never agreed with Flyer's age thing We have BZ now and he is playing very well and a hero at the club … doubt if any of us saw that and wouldn't of cared if he had left I think YSY looks to be good but the others are all to the policy of buying in a team. I still stand that we will sign a 15m player if we stay up next year .. SPEND SPEND SPEND We have shot our mouths off in the press to get extra exposure for Nike apart from that where are we? well we have a 200m tab for this and are currently in the relegation zone and still paying out big wages. It would interesting to look at the figures as the whole thing has been spun IMO
From West London Sport """""""""""""" Taarabt features in QPR Under-21 game 03/11/2014 By James Ross Adel Taarabt returned to action on Monday afternoon when he featured for QPR’s development side in a match against Ipswich Town. Taarabt, recently involved in an extraordinary public fall-out with Rangers manager Harry Redknapp, played the whole 90 minutes of the game at Ipswich’s training centre, where the visitors won 3-0. He went close to scoring in the first half when he created space for himself before firing just wide of the target. And after the break the Moroccan created chances for Max Ehmer, Olamide Shodipo and Josh Laurent. Rangers were two up at half-time after goals from Darnell Furlong – son of former R’s striker Paul Furlong – and Jordan Gibbons. Shodipo added a late third. Taarabt, accused by Redknapp of refusing to train properly and being unfit to play, has made only three first-team appearances this season, the last of which came as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat at West Ham on 5 October. He recently had a slight ankle problem and missed training the week before last because of illness. """""""""""""""""""""""
The whole 90 minutes...great news. Love to see him come on and create havoc for defences (hopefully not ours) in the six pointers coming up after Citeh. (good to hear about a Furlong goal too)
The start of November and Taarafat is finally doing what he's paid sh*t loads to do in the first place. I hope he keeps it up and pays the fans, Manager and Club back for his disgraceful attitude to date.
Same could be said for a lot more than Taarabt at least Harold has woken up himself and started doing his job also and after all he is the one with the mouth and true responsibility Shouldn't make any difference to those who don't believe in Taarabt anyway The future looks a lot better all round IMO I say he will be key for us and a danger for anyone we play in this league ... I am 100% confident he will make a big impact and I hope its against City A run of games in the QPR shirt will put him right up there against the best players in the premiership IMO because he is extra special
And cue.............bang on time Dave. He's special alright; A Special case in the head, just doesn't understand how to make the most of any opportunity.
Harry had a thinly veiled dig "All you want is good lads around. That's all you can ask for. You want those who enjoy being footballers, pick their wages up and work hard and train hard. Then you have a good group of lads. If you have a few dodgy ones, then it is very difficult".
