Chensey does deal with high balls. Like i said defending on set pieces depends on many things. Chensey can't do nothing when Johan Djourou falls asleep and lets the players he was marking score on a set piece. As for setting up the defence, that has to be done off the field not by a kid in the game. He can do his best but to get all that spot on you need to work on that off the pitch. At Arsenal that is sadly not the case. Its too much to ask a kid to organise a defence. Those things you learn as you grow into the role. But Chensey is a beast in the air, because everytime he comes for a high ball he gets it. Simple as. As for letting in more goals after he came, well that is normally the time when we bottle the games. So thats not a suprise. And the last 6 games or so most of the team gave up. I never judged De Gea, its a fact that he let in the most goals from shots outside the box in La Liga. And you can see that his foot work is very dodgy when he tries to move his feet to get to a shot from range.

You've hit the nail on the head. Remember, for the vast majority of the season, we played well, and thus conceded less goals, due to overall team play. When we collapsed, obviously we would concede more goals. If it were not for Wojciech Szczesny, we would have conceded far more goals. it's hardly his fault if the team collapses, he kept playing as well as ever, it was the surrounding cast who cost us those goals.

That 1st goal against Stoke was a joke. You can see Djourou calling someone to pick up Jones and he is ignored. And it was RAMSEY trying to pick up Jones. <doh> The 2nd goal took a massive deflection and just looped up over him. As for the Bolton goals, again awful marking by Dujorou. We have already talked about the awful run of form the team went on in the 3 months. The only mistake you can even blame Chensey is for his part in the Birmingham goal in the CC final. The rest are down awful marking from set pieces. Also you can see why we have changed our marking system now. Last season we let players mark someone but we have changed to Zonal marking. This gives Chensey even more space and responsibility to do what he does best and that is come out and deal with set pieces. The thing about Chensey is he makes up his mind and sticks with it. So if he does not think he can go for a high ball then he would hope that his defence can deal with it, which sadly they could not. If he comes to claim the ball then he gets it everytime. And this season because of the zonal marking system we are going see Chesney do a lot more of this then normal which is good. And Newcastle away was an example of it. Every set piece he came out and took it early.

Also by picking the examples you have just shows that he is a keeper that rarely makes stand out mistakes. You found three examples where he did not come out for a cross out of god knows how many times he did. Its no suprise you can't find a clip where he comes for a cross and is left in no mans land. Because like i said he makes up his mind. If he thinks he can't get a cross he trusts his team mates to deal with it. But young Chensey has probaly learned not to trust Arsenal players with picking up their player on set pieces anymore. Because in those three times he was let down by awful marking. De Gea on the other hand has made BASIC mistakes. He can't move his feet quick enough to get to shots which is not very good. And the goal he let in from Shane Long was abysmal.
