Orban is a total prick mind you, I'm actually laughing at the fact his tin-pot dictatorship is being overrun...now he needs the EU's help, funny that.
I don't know anything about him mate, I'll take your word for it How many have Finland pledged to take?
One of those things that I wish I could unsee! If I'd seen that photo 3-4 years ago I would have felt sadness lasting no longer than a few seconds then continued with what I was doing and forgot about it. However since then I have had a daughter who is about the same age as this poor boy. Now I am as soft as clarts and things like this genuinely break my heart. I just think of the blind panic that this child would have been going through but at the same time not fully understanding what exactly was going on, not realising the fact he was dying. When I see this photo I actually have to stop myself from crying and the thought of my own daughter going through this almost makes me hyper ventilate.
Don't worry mate, you seem very level headed, I'm sure you would never put your kid in the same position that the father of this boy did, because he wanted to get his teeth fixed. Selfish ****, he's out and about now, taking pictures in his old town where he used to live (3 years ago) raking in the publicity and cash no doubt. His old town, that he was so scared to live in he moved to Turkey and 'fleed the war', yet he's happy to go back there now with a photographer. Let's hope he ****ing hangs himself out of guilt because I don't want him anywhere near this country.
This guy's just lost his 2 kids and his wife. Irrespective of the full story, and I'm guessing no one on here knows it, maybe just a little empathy could be spared?
Two kids that he valued less than his own teeth, knowing the dangers of crossing those waters in a dinghy. If it's ok with you, I'm going to make my judgements on him as a person, based on the accounts given by the two boy's auntie.
I watched her entire interview on Sky News mate, she was attempting to get them to Canada. She gave them 4,000 Euro to take the trip, she's devastated. She said he was coming to Europe because he was desperate to get his teeth fixed.
Can't open the link here. Just what you're saying there though, wouldn't it be cheaper ,and safer, just to buy a plane ticket to Canada? Or would a visa be a problem? Edit: And don't they have dentists in Canada?
She tried sponsoring them, the application was rejected for him to go to Canada, he obviously wanted to leave so badly that he decided to get his teeth fixed elsewhere instead. The media has whipped this up into a massive lie, meanwhile he's taking pictures, posing in his old village... oh now he's fine to go back there because he's lost everything and he won't be getting new teeth any time soon. Quick, everybody needs to sympathise and bring him to the UK, get him here and we'll fix his teeth. I sympathise with him for his loss, I'm sure he never envisaged his wife dying along with his children, but it's his own fault, I don't need to show empathy, if I was in his shoes I'd have never, ever put my own life in danger never mind his wife and kids.
The only thing I knew about this case was that he'd gone back to Kobane to bury his family, which made me wonder why he'd left there without his family in the first place.
He's not even escaping a war zone mate, he lived in Turkey for ages! He was just a grumpy **** who wanted everything and wasn't prepared to wait, no matter what. Bodrum FFS, I've been there on holiday some of those hotels are ridiculous... that's where they left from, the media have made out they dodged a barrage of mortar attacks on their home and had no choice but to get in the dinghy. The media want the refugees here, the trouble that will ensue will create news and that makes money.
He didn't they were with him when he emigrated to Turkey, legitimately. The dead bodies were flown back, via Istanbul, to a city near the Syrian border, then transported by land across the border and to his required destination for burial. He'd have probably put the dead bodies on a boat the thick bastard.
I didn't even get that right then, though I'm still confused as to how the kid ended face down on the beach if they were there legitimately. Anyway, the whole thing is a mess. It just goes to show how the power of a single picture can change government policy though. Its been embarrassing watching all our self-rightious politicians squirming in the press over the last few days. The EU have really ****ed things up and seeing some of the headlines from the eastern european politicians just goes to show how different they are to the rest of europe. Not necessarily better or worse. Just very different.
Turkey is not part of the EU, that's how he ended up face down in the sand, he was desperate to get his teeth fixed in Europe, so tried to enter illegally, probably to merge in with the other thousands of refugees from Syria... he is evidently an opportunist.
