Who was referring to anyone on this thread? It's clear that, but a for a few souls, most of the posters on here are right-wing, racist bigots with IQs on a par with a fence post.

Hmm I don't actually care too much, I much prefer just making racist / sectarian / pointless comments with little to no regard for anyone on here other than baiting, but i'll try my spasticated best here.

Putin? Meh. Most of the ME is a disaster, with Russia playing but a small part in any of that. Anyone crowing about Putin and Russia bieng the bad guy is blinkered beyond belief. No one's saying he's a hero, more chuckling at those flapping their gums when, in the grand scheme of things, everyone's a massive ****, especially Britain, The US, Assad, Putin, you, and me.

Last place I'd come on to either 'discuss' with others or 'educate' myself on current affairs is GC, which brings me back to my first paragraph, you ****ing bunch of coon proddy ****s.

There's a trend among the Left in Britain to engage in apotheosis when it comes to Putin. It's usually the same people who see America as the devil in world affairs.

Putin's an extremely dangerous man, not just internationally but locally where he oversees the brutal treatment of political opponents and minority groups. Anyone who admires Putin clearly knows **** all about him other than the bullshit spread by those nutters on the extreme left.

I don't admire him but he's a necessary evil. Assad in Syria is also a necessary evil. Countries like Russia and Syria need authoritarian dictators to govern them. We got rid of Saddam in Iraq and Gaddafi in Lybia; both bastards who committed war crimes against specific groups of the population but they generally had significant support from the people and were keeping these countries stable and manageable.

I think it's pretty obvious that as soon as America pulls out of Afghanistan the Taliban will return to power because the 'democracy' installed is fragile and the army is pretty ineffective at fighting Taliban guerillas. People can bitch and moan about British and American governments but at least we can bitch and moan about them online and in public without fear of death. I do find it odd how lefties sympathise with Putin's Russia; maybe it's just motivated by their intense hatred of America and corporate capitalism. What I find even more odd is the Left's sympathy for Islam; a conservative, homophobic, sexist, militaristic religion based on rigid absolutist laws, basically the complete opposite of left-leaning, liberal principles. Just look at the Guardian comments section on articles about Egypt and Israel and you'll witness a lot of praise for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

What I find odd is the rights unwavering belief in their perception of whats going on in the middle east when they have never been there to experience it for themselves.

I also find it odd that @Vince Masuka cant comprehend why the left have sympathy for Islam, its not that they subscribe to the religion, but they are against the attacking of it.

Sort this out

@Minxy

Criticism isn't attacking religion. And why would the Left be against attacking religion anyway? Wasn't it the radical Left during the French Revolution who promoted secularism and abolished the Church, confiscating its property and distributing it to the people? Wasn't it Marx who said 'religion is the opium of the people'? The modern-day Left only have affection for Islam because it's predominantly practiced by Middle Easterners and Asians and they suffer from white guilt. They have no problem mocking or attacking Christianity.

Invading the middle east is an indirect attack on Islam in the name of Christianity, if you actually read the Quran you would know that Allah is fully against this kind of violence, he told Muhammad as much in no uncertain terms.

I have read the Quran. I took particular interest in the bit when Muhammad invades the Arab Jewish tribe Banu Qurayza's territory, orders the beheading of 400 male members of the tribe and sells the women and children into slavery to financially support his war campaign across the Arabian Peninsula.

There's also this: '
And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)' Quran (2:191-193)
