Syd can't please everyone that comes as part of his role, but I cant think of many that could do the same job (maybe we need a second supermod to lighten the load on syd?)

I appreciate the job you do one here and so do the majority of posters. If it is getting too much and you can't be arsed to continue then fair enough but I hope that day is far away.

Syd hasn't had to do anything 'big' moderation-wise for ages though, so the complete unexpected nature of this post just makes me think this guy is a wum.

Syd if you're hacked off then it's your call if you want to pack it in and I'm sure most of us will appreciate that.

However, as one from the other side I wouldn't let a few halfwits get on your case and drive you out. Unfortunately the more you do for people the more they expect, providing it always suits them.

PS. I've got a nearly new 95/96 away strip going spare if you want to come and join us.

 

Syd, I would be disappointed to see you give up the supermod job. You always seem honest and fair and I think that you have the backing of most members of this forum.

But if it is really beginning to get you down then give it up, I bet you don't need half the hassle you get..

 

Well said Cest. Syd you do a great job. I have been in your shoes and its impossible. You will never keep everyone happy all the time. We (or most of us) elected you to be our mod, it is up to us to trust your judgement. So I would say keep doing what you think is the right thing.

One thing is for sure your going to get a lot more people complaining if you leave the post and the majority of us thing you do a superb job.

 

If you're going to go, make sure it's your choice and not somebody else's!

This! This isn't a ****ing democracy or a fight for civil rights, its a minor forum we all use to procrastinate at work or at home...There's banter and there's being a dick (and thats aimed at both Toon and Sunderland supporters). Syd's role is appease the majority, this is the Sunderland board and if the Sunderland supporters are sick of 20+ 'happy halloween' posts then of course Syd is going to delete them.

For what its worth I think you a top notch job Syd and of all the Sunderland posters I think you're one of the most fair and open minded about the freedom of this site!

Could cause much bigger problems as well though, if there was a rift between the various supermods.

 

I'll be a supermod. I'll happily take as much flak as anyone can offer in this place. Plus, I have superb inter-Sunderland/Newcastle relations, as I'm a friend on both boards.
