just a comparison, we're allowed slag off rob green because he lets in a few goals and as a keeper he's meant to stop them but we can't abuse swp because even though as a striker he can't score but does run about a bit? do me a favour..
I think thats the point Inky - he's not a striker and is not being played as one. He is being played as a chasing, harrying midfielder, a thankless role, especially as everyone is expecting him to get crosses in and score goals. I am not a fan, but we have to be fair, Harold obviously thinks he is his best option in this type of role. If we don't like it H should take the stick in my view, not SWP.
So yesterday we had SWP who is not meant to be creative on the wing and both Derry and Mbia. So our only creative players were Adel and Townsend. I already said Harry made a big mistake with this one
work colleague told me that SWP has effectively 3 good games per team he has played for. As far as I am concerned the goal against chelsea counts as one of those games so he owes us two more games. Never been a fan - won't knock the pace, but finally delivery and shooting is rubbish. Cannot understand why clubs have paid so much money for him - surely if he was so good, why haven't clubs tried to buy him from us?
He was a waste of space, when Zamora came on for him we actually looked like we might score and Zamora didn't exactly do that much
Agree with that mostly - SWP's running did cause Norwich some problems and won us some free kicks. But we needed another striker on much earlier, from the first minute in fact! And it must have been a close choice between Mackie and SWP for who was going to make way for BZ when he eventually came on. I see Mackie and SWP as pretty similar, both run and run and work their socks off - Mackie is a bit more likely to score, and SWP is quicker, but playing both in the same 11 is 1 of them too many, and surely Mackie can't play lone striker again can he Harry? Surely as well Harry you ain't going to loan out DJ now? Where was Hoillet yesterday, I read he was fit again. He has a few goals in him, what we need surely.
