Dont worry queensparkrangers, Swords has a thing about the number of posts.

Perhaps there's an award coming up that we have not been told about and he's in for it.

Did he really get the most assists? Are they including his mishit shot at Villa that went straight to Cisse, his poor control at home to Wolves that fell to Zamora or the hook in the air that Lescott inexplicably failed to deal with at City because I'm racking my brain to think of any more.

I'll agree with that - playing him in the middle is mysterious at best and Mackie deservedly got his extended run.

SWP is a confidence player, he does have talent and his end product is sometimes erratic (a la Aaron Lennon). He has worked hard wherever we've played him and kept his nose clean so I'd be more than happy to give him another season to see how he does.

I suppose it could be argued that his wages are high but he's on the equivalent of what Vine and Agyemang were combined (I'd guess) and his use easily surpasses the pair put together plus his potential to get it right it ever present.

I also was a also a supporter of his on here and it shocked me that he was being compared with the truly inept performances of JB. But by the time it came to January there was no way anyone could reasonably go on defending the poor performances he was putting in week in week out. Unlike some I don't believe he never really had any talent and just got by on pace and I do think there is scope for him to improve again. But I do not want to see him in the first team again just because of his reputation - he more than anyone now needs to earn his place in the 25 let alone the starting 11. It was crazy that Warnock (and later Hughes) kept on playing him when his confidence was clearly shot.

If you're mad, so am I. I agree with what you say. Sure, he was a little disappointing at times but I, for one, would be delighted to see him in our squad and very much believe he could become a very good player for us. There can be no criticism of his effort, just needs a bit more luck and confidence.

I have complete faith in SWP to come good and he will .. Then to all th eficjle who want this player gone that player to come in ... Have a look at Cisse and Mackie's goals on QPR player if you have it ... it makes you proud that we have these players at our club. I knew Barton would be a problem but the rest ... stand up we are QPR and we have a outstanding squad now ... The best of all time in fact ... squad not team . I hope that Jay Bothroyd gets a go next year as when fired up he is very good ... can Mh judges get them all firing this summer IMO he will and we have a lot to look forward too ... SWP will come good and i respect those who have stuck by him.
Its just the way nowadays ... you will see a good start next season and we will be talking about having world class players

As usual Oddball, you have a great post and then destroy it all with one line.

Also remember his scuffed cross that bobbled along to Barton at Wolves.

Useless player. No ability. A premier league and England winger that cannot pick out a player for a cross?! Add to that he's on £60,000 a week. I'm thinking of reporting him to the police for fraud

Betty Aaagh, I watched the home game against City the other night - HH murdered them in the air, City couldn't handle him but also in fact Betty was very good too, scored an excellent goal and apart from HH's back being in the way, got another. If he could do that and as his 2nd half against Spurs every game he'd be very good to have too - but then I can't really see him being so consistent.

Bloody Hell Ozzie, if Emile Heskey could consistently repeat the good game he had 12 years ago he could still become England's most prolific striker!

The lad is a chump. No guts, no guile. Get rid.

i think he will come good. He will have a whole pre-season under him, And i think he just needs to score an early goal at the start of the season. as a player i have been though it its a confidence thing. instead of playing your normal game you try and do the easy things. now you imagine having the LR crowd on you back you just tense up and make the wrong choices. But at the end of the day he is a super hoop and we should all support him.

Yeh we should, Betty can do perform at a high level but he hasn't been doing it often enough. But be subtle, show him scoring against city, and if we lucky Norwich will buy to re replace Holt !

I can only think of 2 assists, a corner against MK and the 5 yard square ball to Tommy Smith for the 30 yarder. Every other one must have been a deflection! eg his ball that was headed in cisses path against City.

Well, if we keep him I hope he does come good. But I can't remember a time when he was ever consistently good. If we want someone who can cover back and hassle the opposition I'm sure we can get someone who isn't so frustratingly mindless on the ball, who can at least give the simple pass quickly and safely. I was there at the Emirates when he passed to the opposition to give the goal away, and I really don't like him in possession anywhere near our goal.
Serious bit of revisionism going on here. Don't remember people sticking up for him for most of the last season.

We already have. His name's Jamie Mackie.

You're right Stanley, it would be a minor miracle if the chap turns good at this stage of his career.
