The poll tells us the majority want him gone, its also a perfect example of how a poll can be rigged as although the majority want him banned, you could say the top voted option that he was unfairly banned which is clearly fiddling the answers by diluting the banned answers.

As people have pointed out, a troll with no life is stopping many good posters from using this board and he systematically destroys threads and will never change his ways. Ban him and let him return to the Chelsea boards, his posts are easily spotted if he signs up as someone else.

I guess this thread at least provides us all with a small distraction from some of the more pressing issues out there currently affecting our club?

Having re-read this thread and browsed a lot of the currently popular/active threads on our board I would like to make my position crystal clear, as this is what I believe Brix is asking us to do.
I respect the work that Brix and Nuts do entirely voluntarily, support them fully and believe they should have the right to ban anybody they like, arbitrarily and without need to explain. In fact the more random the better, like The Hunger Games (thanks to my daughter for that up to date cultural reference). Of course I can only say this because I know they both takes their modding very seriously, as this thread proves.
This is a club with rules, you break the rules, expect punishment
So I support the action that the mods have taken in temporarily banning Swords.

BUT this place is worse off without him. He would have livened up the repetitive, one dimensional threads on last nights games no end.

I also miss Carlos, a master of the absurd, and Staines who's heart is the biggest on here.

What was wrong, more people want him banned than not banned yet the not banned option is leading. Those are the facts. 22 people want him banned, 17 dont.

Just want to add to my post yesterday on this subject, that my response was in no way questioning any decision made by Brixton and Nuts, was thinking out loud really. I've not voted either.

The minute the poll closes, so does the thread (well, as soon as either NUTS or me get back on here afterwards it does).

    Time to start concluding then.

As it stands, 17 people saying no ban. 11 saying short ban. 11 saying permanent ban.

22 want some sort of ban. 17 want no action. 28 do not want a permanent ban against 11 who do.

Unless the vote changes dramatically one way or the other, that's pretty much what we thought when we decided not to apply the permanent ban he'd been warned about.

Seems to me on balance, the 4 weeker's about right. Too many either side of the fence to ignore. This way, those who support Swords get to retain him (as long as he stays below the radar) and those who've had enough of him get a few week's break and the hope of a bit more respect from him if and when he returns.

Can't say fairer than that. Can you?

Staines did PM me about his wish to take a sabbatical. Not for me to go into his private reasons but suffice to say, were taken into account when arriving at our decision.

PS: health-wise, Stainesy's had some uncomfortable tests and was awaiting results. Consultant quietly confident the condition's containable but as yet unconfirmed. I know you'll all join me in wishing him well (said he might pop on for a gander every now and then).

Staines problems put this rubbish into perspective. How many pages have been taken up with discussions about a non entity in Dublin?

No doubt Swords will come back full of promises and then get banned again. it will then happen again in a few months and on and on.

It Staines and others with problems who we should be concentrating on. Best Wishes Staines.

Oh yes and we should remember this is a football site.

A song to Swords. Take the ban like a man and learn from both it and this thread mate, be well. Look forward to having you back as this place is poorer without you.
