I said after Welbecks loan with us that we should have offered 15m for him there and then. I think his development at Manure has been terrible and he looks a worse player with them than he did with us and with England. I think he will prove to be one of the signings of the Summer and will do very well for Arsenal. Real shame he did not come back to us be we are where we are. I wish the lad loads of luck, I just hope he is off form when we play Arsenal.

Players know a move to Sunderland means the end of their England career.

If Rooney had arrived in the window he'd never have been made captain and would gradually be left out.

The England managers prevent us signing players, end of story.

On the other hand if Colback had stayed here he would still have been selected for the squad so its about time we got over ourselves.

Totally agree Vegas, in principle. But reality is, we were never gonna get him, just like all of the other loanees we have had over the last 5 years or so. It wouldn't have mattered how much we'd offered, unless it was really ****ing ridiculous. And then we'd have all complained about how much over the top we'd just paid for a loanee.

The way things are looking at ManU it may be worth keeping closer tabs on Johnny Evans's situation.

Good game and a fantastic atmosphere at the stadium, at least in with the Swiss supporters. England fans were pretty quiet until we scored

Dont think Sterling playing through the middle was very effective, we looked a lot better attacking when Welbeck was the central striker with Sterling on the outside.

Arsenal have got themselves a good player for 16m imo, Welbeck progress went backwards while at Man U but played in the proper position and given games (which he will get at Arsenal) he will come good.

2 goals were harsh on the Swiss team, and flattered England who laboured for quite a bit of the game and were lucky not to concede a couple. Rooney looked lost in his current role and kept trying to be too fancy.

Didn't see the game, but John Stones, how did he play?

Never really heard of him, just looked, he's only played 46 senior games, 24 of which were for Barnsley.
