I agree and to be fair to Switzerland, they're a decent side. A bit of a golden generation growing for them.
No def not Fran - you should technically be in line for a damehood for saving the nation if you did commit this great deed !
I'm not really sure what result I want from this game. A defeat and we should still qualify easily enough. A win and we could be stuck with this team, and manager, for a year or two. I actually think we have the basis of a half decent team, the problem is that certain players seem to hit a blind spot with the management and even though they are do not live up to the hype, no one on the inside seems to notice.
Lets face it, Scotland could have beaten Germany. Doesn't disguise the fact that they really aren't the best. England could nick this though. If so, I hope they'll have the courage to change things around.
This is typical England. They raise their game when the pressure's on but next game they'll be complete ****e.
One of the issues is that no team in this group will come at England. Even the Swiss were reserved in the first half really. We scored when they had a few minutes of concerted pressure and caught them on the break. This is the way Roy knows but unfortunately being England manager, most teams sit back against us. So..... Next game we may look ****e, but it will be because we are playing someone who we have no idea how to break down.
Which manager would you have instead? I think were just lucky to have someone who wants the job. And team? I think maybe there's a case for Clyne at right back, but other than that? Not sure we have a wealth of quality to choose from.
Fair point regarding the manager. Regardless of who I would want, who would be stupid enough to want the job (oh yeah, Harry!). Agree with Clyne. I would also not play Rooney (controversial) or Wilshire (hopefully less so). Oh, and by the way, I would play Sterling but he just needs someone to tell him that he's good but not that good!
