It does beggar belief though doesn't it? Have you read what he said?

Apparently being in charge of an organisation is the safest place to be as you aren't responsible for anything. The worst thing of all - he is going to get voted in on Friday.

I would imagine the uproar from certain sections of the footballing world will be quite interesting.

Never has there been a bigger chance to bring this corrupt and millionaire-making organisation down than this week. If only some federations would just withdraw from Fifa - but unfortunately money rules over everything.

    I find it very depressing.

I should really play in goal as I was better there but playing up front was more enjoyable and less stressful. I hope I can persuade the fans...

I understand your low mood, but it always been thus. You get to a certain level in an institution and you can't be turfed out because you garner such support. Blatter is the supreme expert at this because he is an Everyman to everyone. He makes big promises to countries on the edge of football provided they line his and his trusted cronies pockets. And boy, does he own a tight coterie of followers that he looks after. But like in the best gangster films, when push comes to shove, he manages to distance himself from all the hypocrisy. Only this isn't a movie where the king baddie finally makes a mistake. Blatter is that good that he can pull up the drawbridge and let the flak hit his cronies, remaining squeaky clean in the process. And I'm going to stick my neck out and say Friday's vote will vindicate him once again.

And if it does I shall laugh my head off because I got past being depressed about it years ago. :)

I was crap in goal, but I knew what it took to be a good goalkeeper and I definitely didn't have it. I was most definitely an outfield footballer, playing in every position except LB in the dressing room. I was a fair defender, a good defensive midfielder, a jinking winger in the early MLT mould, on either side, and a deep lying centre forward, flicking the ball on. My best position was as a creative midfielder, but I did win an award as the best player in a national 5-a-side competition, playing as the goal getter for our team. We won the tournament, so I guess that helped. If I could find the bloody trophy I'd remember the goal count. The number scored was on the back. But my playing days are most definitely over.

Friday's vote is irrelevant. I hope the world media and people on here go, "oh no he's won again" when he wins the election. He's a shoe-in.

This isn't about the election, it's about undermining the Chiefs of this lieing and cheating, corrupt organisation. The wheels are in motion and the captain is going to have a tough task keeping the ship upright.

For the last couple months yes, but what about the rest of the time he's been in charge. Ironically, challenging FIFA would have been the best thing he could have done in terms of getting re-elected. Even I might have voted for him.

It's terrible to think a charity behaves like this....that's right Fifa is a charity that pays little to no tax as they force every country they are active in to register them as such.

I think I said before on here but it's always hard to get across how you actually feel on a Forum. 'Depressed' in this instance means exactly what you said, weary resignation and laughing about it. Mind you when things get really corrupt, historically they do eventually collapse in on themselves, it just takes a very long time and those that benefitted from it get away with it.

My best position in football that I was really good at? Administration! I've got a few secretary of the year awards. How crap is that?

    For the hosts i assume.

If its true and can be proven then surely its the end for FIFA as it is right now. Taking bribes to decide a host nation is one thing (though still despicable) but actually fixing matches at its global showpiece event is unforgivable.

That's what I was thinking, as Tommomo said this will be the last straw I think if it's proven.

Anyone else feel the urge to burst into song when Price Ali is mentioned?

    Are we sure he's a Prince? :emoticon-0138-think
