Is this a site wide directive, as most other boards continue with the jumbled up swear words to evade filters (although that is probably cause they are too stupid to spell them correcly?).

A good joke among Brighton fans:

Q: Which three football clubs have swear words in their names?
A: Arsenal, Scunthorpe and Crystal ****ing Palace.
 
I still see people on the Spurs board spelling swear words wrong.

fcuk instead of **** seems to be the most common.

There are very, very few site wide directives and most of them are ignored, anyway.
This is just for this board.
 
. . . and I'm using 'spelt' in the phonetic sense, just in case any Ensil-esque smart arses want to bring up 'spelled' <grr>
