As none smoking, none swearing, female I have to admit bad language in a football ground is to be expected. I go to matches with my husband and brother and I have made it abundantly clear to my husband if he gets hauled out for his language he's on his own I wouldn't leave with him. He becomes a different person watching footbal, normally very mild mannered those of us around him just shake our heads. As long as nobody is using the "C" word I think I'll survive. It's up to parents if they want to expose their children to things like that, when my grandson is old enough to go to games he will be in the family section where he is less likely to hear it.

The key to getting away with it is do your swearing when the entire crowd is shouting. Obviously the odd '**** off' or whatever may come out, but you don't look like the lunatic you once did. Also try to refrain from spitting when you talk, used to be a big problem for me when I got caught up with cheating, but now I'm more chilled at games ;)

I wish I'd thought of that, like Ghengis he works away from home and although a season ticket holder doesn't get to all games, I take my niece and she's much better behaved.

As a steward, I'll let you know that I let guys off swearing, as long as its not constant, there's no kids around and it's not racist or sexiest. Abuse at a ref and a linesman for a wrong decision and I'm up there with you's personally but most stewards will let you off if its not continuous.

As a steward, you should tell your boss there is no need for a threatening letter to anyone in the tone of the one he sends. He is obviously an illiterate useless twat himself who likes to bully people. Probably a weak kneed little pink person with a flabby head and no chest hair. Parking attendant in his past. It would suffice to send a letter saying someone had complained and if this is true can you tone it down or further complaints will be acted upon. Or tell the complainant to get to **** to the pictures or a knitting circle.

I've sent my letter complaining of this attitude to the customer services Manager. We shall see what he says. One can only try.

The Pieman is going to have swear boxes installed throughout the ground and everybody using a swear word will have to put a £1 coin in for every time they use an expletive.

Seems he's hoping to get enough to buy Messi before the season ends.

I can see the logic... All he has to do is say that Tiote and Enrique are for sale and we'll be able to buy the entire Barca* squad after the Bolton game.

    * I am aware that Barca are an inferior squad at present...

I can only assume that the person who complained against you has never been to a football match before. I mean, swearing happens all the time at football - fans and players alike. And while I don't necessarily condone it, if you aren't prepared to listen to curse words then you should stay away from matches.

If they are going to eject you from the stadium for swearing as a few people may find it offensive then can they please eject Rooney from the stadium the first time he swears in the match as that reaches a far wider audience to offend.... and he's an ugly bastard.

They wont kick you out for swearing the odd time, they will kick you out if you do it on a consistent basis when there really is no need and when it's sexist, racist or homophobic... the process is that someone complains, tells a steward, the steward keeps an eye/ear on it then if its worth intervening then they get a warning. keep doing it and you get kicked out or if the match is finished, a letter.

The process in this case was not followed then. No-one complained during the match, no-one mentioned it to me, someone complained after the match and i recieved a disgusting and demeaning threatening letter and a statement they would be watching me and the complaint will be kept on file. Judged and condemned out of hand. This was allegedly being foul and offensive. I can't help the way i look. I was in fact swearing. So what, so were 40,000 others and everyone can hear that. What makes my swearing noteworthy then? I think i know who complained anyway. It was another reason why the person complained. Took exception to me for reasons known to them. Absolutely no racism, sexism or homophobia. Maybe it's because there is not a major amount of swearing where i sit and i stood out. I was a wee bit elephants on the day mind as me and my Bro were having a drink for my birthday.
