No matter how bad you say we have been in the second half ( which we haven't been by the way) we have still been better than Villa in both halves anyway. Travesty.
what a shambles. vorm **** off back to the bench, get tremmel in! and lets get an out n out striker, if ever we needed a clinical player
Hard game to watch. We were too confident I think and lacked urgency at times. Vorm did not do well with ther goal, at least given the high standards that are set for him. I think we dug deep and did well to grab the equalizer. Fair play to DG, he took the goal very well. He deserves a bit of a run now to build confidence. Given that we hit the woodwork twice, had a penalty call go against us, I'll take the point. Lambert is a bloody jinx for us
I'm glad I failed to get tickets for this game! Thank you Liberty ticket office. I've said before our mindset is not right against these bottom teams, and while Laudrup in fairness to him is attempting to sort it, he has quite a job on his hands. Firstly we are starting to become sloppy in our passing, but that wasn't the main problem, how slow is our build recently? no urgency today, particularly in the second half. Ashley Williams was in my view one of the main culprits in this regard, slow wasn't the word, but I'm glad Ki is mostly on the bench now, as this lad seriously needs a rocket up his arse! Pleased for Graham again today, seems his desire is back, lets hope he holds onto it, as it will take pressure off Michu, who had a good game and was a tad unlucky today in front of goal, would like to congratulate Routledge again for a great performance today, he has been given a new lease of life under Laudrup. To conclude this is a game to learn from and forget! Two points definitely thrown away, should have been 3 up first half, but we were not clinical enough in front of goal......................
We asked for it and we got it. We took them apart for the first 20 minutes and then started posing about like a bunch of big time Charlies. Pass it here, pass it there, all at a strolling pace, as if it was all too easy and Villa weren't worth the effort. It was unprofessional and it was wrong. I believe it was the first time that I saw Michael Laudrup get agitated. With good reason. We were playing a team shorn of confidence, one with little experience and a lot of youngsters, a side that had been hammered three times on the trot to the tune of 15 goals against and none for!!! After the start we had, it was a disgrace that we almost managed to go on and lose the game. We seem to be a one half team and as soon as the other lot face up and start playing, we begin to struggle and lose our fluency. This was two points lost, without doubt, and, with a few weeks of tough fixtures in front of us, I don't believe that we can afford it. We need to harden up and learn to play for 90 minutes and I'm not forgetting our very late equaliser. We let them back into the game and I have to ask why? The sooner we get a real leader in midfield, the faster we might get an answer to the question, because that's where the problem is. I'll take the point because they all count but I'm not happy seeing two more disappear into the ether with no good reason.
Well you cannot say our games are boring we should.of been 4-0 up on 20 mins that's football for you and I cannot believe some of the statements that were hurled at Danny graham by the ccok that was stood behind me. I was laughing at times. I think the closest he ever got to a football field was when.his mother used to take him down blackpill in the summer
A couple of comments on DG ... wasted a good opportunity in the first 15, missing the target completely ... took the goal well at the end of the game. In all I was not that impressed by him and I don't think he meshes with Michu as well as Moore or for that matter Itay; he flatters to deceive at times. I was surprised he wasn't pulled for Itay with about 10 left.
Well it was exhausting watching it behind the home end. I think we got sucked into lobbing balls into the box because they were so deep. In fairness their two centre halves were outstanding, but we lacked width. Out wingers come inside so much that one Villa player could mark three Swans. DG was out wide when I would have preferred him in the box and leave the wingers out there. We failed to get behind them because we were so narrow. I think Yankee is right about a confusion of areas and roles with Michu and DG as the game got more condensed but they seemed ok in the first 20mins. We lost our way and got into aerial ping pong rather than playing football. Great finish by Danny. Ben Davies best Swansea player on the field. Immense especially second half.
I thought in The first 20 that they worked really well together and causing villa no end of trouble and routledge was outstanding and terrorised their defence once they got the equaliser that was that
This is not sour grapes as I watched the same game as the rest of you but I'm afraid individually there were too many players off the pace today.Michu looked like he's still struggling with the knock he had against Reading and Pablo played like it was his first game for us,I think he was left on to give him more playing time because he wasn't the same player as he had been until his injury. Collectively villa dragged us down to their level which suited them , you don't always get what you deserve and thats true of football but to have lost to a team like villa today would have been a travesty ,i accept that there are many better teams than us and to be beaten by them is no disgrace but if thats how lambert likes his team to play then thanks but no thanks .The ref let too many incidents go before deciding enough was enough and can some one explain what a linesmans role is during a game because I don't know .. dirty niggly challenges went unpunished for too long ,any way a lot for the manager to address and we're up to eighth so it's not all doom and gloom but still disappointed
Am I the only one who wasn't dissapointed by Swanseas performance? The passing in the 1st half was beautiful. Especially those going into the box from a midfielder. Villa was completely outplayed throughout most of the match and even though they are at the bottom of the table it's not a display you ever can take for granted. I agree that there was some sloppy passing in the 2nd half but overall I approve of the performance and I turned a friend into a Swansea fan after the match.
No you are not the only one - I was disappointed with the result but not the level of our play. We did outplay Villa for large spells and deserved to win. I think others are letting disappointment take hold of their emotions here. We were rubbish against Spurs. This performance was way ahead of that performance.
