I'd drop Ayew - and play Gomis. I'd like to see us play like Leicester - Vardy plays off a big guy: Paloschi should do likewise.
Good shout! We looked more threatening yesterday when both of them (Gomis & Paloschi) were up top together.
Thats all we can hope to rely on valley as the team wont get enough points if we have to rely on them...
The issue is that it's not actually Ayew's job in this team to hug the left touchline. If it was, he'd be doing it or he'd be on the bench. The fact he hasn't done it all year suggests one of two things - a) it's not his job; or b) we've been shafted and his contract states that he has to play every game no matter what. It's well documented and accepted on this forum that Ayew is a bit of a square peg in our team of round holes, but the fact remains that if we're playing Ayew and we know he plays inside rather than with chalk on his boots, then why have Taylor on at left back? Why not use Naughton from the start? In my view, it's too easy to say "it's Ayew's fault". We all know how Ayew plays, so for me it's management's fault for not adapting the team to resolve the situation. I just found it interesting that out of Rangel and Taylor, all of our decent attacking wingback play came from Rangel - he just 'gets it' so much more. He's comfortable on the ball, knows how to pick the right forward pass, has a fantastic touch. I really like Taylor as a defender, but a wing back he isn't - so we either adapt the formation to suit him as a defensive full back or we pick the right player for the current system.
Given some of his performance, it makes you wonder. After all, Ki had a ridiculous clause in his at one time.
Swansea city U19 11 (eleven) V 1 (one) LLandudno Maybe we should fast track some of those players into the first team They cant do any worst and at least they know how to score more than one goal
