Just want to know what people would say, opinions. If we get into a rele dog fight then I'm sure ppl will be calling for him to go.
I was honestly baffled reading the first comment saying the referee was giving us everything, more so when I saw that all of you were saying it! The ref got so much stick tonight from the home support because it genuinely looked like he was giving us sod all. Llorente was kicked off the park all game, we had (what looked like) a stonewall penalty turned down, the linesmen might aswell have been blind. Now I come here and see everyone is bitching for the complete opposite. I suppose it's just perspective.
Very much so. The stats say Swansea 10-19 Saints in terms of fouls so very much a game where we thought you weren't getting pretty much everything. Well played though, you are looking better under Clement.
I'm not too sure there's anything to debate. Puel has got you guys playing great attacking football. Your League position isn't that bad and you're off to Wembley. Happy days mun! Lot of comments on here about the ref. We thought he was crap/biased as well so that evens things out. Overall I thought we did well to get all three points tonight The Saints have been our bogey team for several seasons, but we had to did deep, very deep, to grind that result out.
Not sure about 'great attacking football' (and I'm one of the positive ones!) but he's not had great attacking players (that are fit) to use, which is the point.
Perhaps it's because I've been watching too much ****e in the first half of the season under Bob Bradley, that any counter attack looks magnificent?
Well I fell asleep around 7 and just woke up. Not overly suprised. This might not go down well, but I think the people who get down about this sort of result need to realise we're just not a very good team this season. We're pretty average, and the league position reflects that. Our season has been the same all season, we'll struggle in a lot of games and we'll have a few good games thrown in here and there like Leicester/Bournemouth.
It's true, we are back to being fairly average after a few seasons of top-four bothering. The big clubs have got their way, taken all of our players and left us looking like a mid-table team. Not sure why we can perform so much better in the league cup though!
This is drepressingly true. I suppose it comes down to how readily you accept that cruel fact, or if you reflect longingly for the exciting football and good results of the past 3 seasons. I grew up watching rele scraps every season, yet I fall into the latter group and am disappointed if we appear to stagnate or regress.
This is true, the thing that makes the failure to accept it more baffling to me is that over the course of our entire history we've spent the majority of it not being very good!
I think we have created chances, just not clinical enough. Bizarrely it seems like a lot of our goals have come in a small number of games ie WHU, Bournemouth and Leicester. If we could have spread the goals out more and turned our draws into one goal wins or our one goal defeats into draws, we would be much higher.
Seems odd that the new accusation aimed at our fans is that we believe we are good. That doesn't stack with all the other accusations that we can't see how good we are. The statement "we aren't very good" only serves to agree with those of us - and it was pronably a majority - who said our summer business was **** this year. We sold better players than we bought. We also sold them at less than aggressive rates. Unfortunately we have started the decline that a buy expensive, replace cheap will invariably move towards eventually. Puel has done about as well as anyone would have without Mane or Wanyama, but the board screwed up over the summer and they are likely to screw up again this summer (if they sell VvD and buy in anything less than a pair of top centrebacks). Roll on Wembley. We'd better win...
