Personally thought it was men against boys even before we brought on siggy and bony. There were ticketing problems I got down the stadium at 7.15 and didnt get in until 8.05 due to purchasing a ticket. I think they were only going to open the east & west stands but in the end we were in the South stand due to number of people turning up on the night and nothing to do with barcodes. Good run out and another win, more than happy with our performance. Understanding is coming also with new players and bartley is a monster

To all struggling to listen to the game - have you heard of Freeview? <whistle> I listened to the second half on the Tivo. That's assuming the other half allows you access to the telly of course!

He seemed like a liability at the end of last season but positive signs so far this.

Tiendalli seems to be most effective when playing in the space you'd expect between full back and wing, not really defensive enough to be an out-and-out full back, not skilful enough to be a winger.
I wouldn't replace Rangel with him but thought he, and Jazz, would offer more than Taylor at left back (but I do admit to not liking Taylor).

IMO we still need that left back position filling.

Tiendalli & Jazz both played really well last night against some quite decent but impotent opponents. Rotherham were run of the mill generally but looked like they could play some decent football when they weren't lumping the ball into the area. Think Stoke (Pullis), so impressing against a big bruiser team tell me both are more than capable of being relied on as replacement players - not first choice yet.

Some impressive debuts, but I feel we still need a defensive midfielder in the Stambouli mould.
We dealt with all the aerial threats that Rotherham threw at us including the long throw ins,our t.wo 6' 3" centre backs ensured that. The score could have been more if Bony had taken his chances, but I would prefer him to stay under the radar until the transfer window closes, with a certain Frenchman looking for a striker!

Agree about DM but comparisons between Carroll and Joe Allen are very accurate (like going back in time).

But I was disappointed with our defending against high balls (the only downside for me). Neither Fernandez nor Bartley seemed able to get any height. Both Jazz and Tiendalli won challenges against taller players but it was only when Bony arrived that we had anyone clearly out jump their mark.

If Canas is exiled within the group, and been told to find a new club, why has he still got a squad number (21), and his name still appears on every programme? If he doesn't find a club within the next six days, then I assume he will either be paid off, stay in limbo,or re-introduced to the squad.

I totally agree with this. We were all over the shop from the long throws. I suppose we are lucky Stoke have stopped that.

    Dunno but,

'Jose Canas is in negotiations to cancel his Swansea City contract , the midfielder has reportedly claimed, as the club finally confirmed the departures of compatriots Chico Flores and Pablo Hernandez to Qatar.'

It's a numbers game as far as Canas being in our named 25 man senior squad. If we don't have 25 others and he is still under contract then he must be on the roster. So something is going to have to give by the deadline - we either release him to give him options to find another club -- or he sticks, is on the squad but left to rot somewhere -- or he sticks, we include him in training and make best use of his value.

If somehow Canas is asked to play , it solidifies the fact that he was always good enough but personal issues took priority. If Canas is not asked to play and no one comes through the window.... the "Swansea Way " is a thing of the past and hoofball here we come .

As usual I'm having some trouble following your logic. Probably me.

Part of the reason the last manager was let go was we were getting away from the "Swansea Way " of play and buying big money transfers , according to Huw. So here we are with 8 million £ defender and the defensive midfielding issues in tatters , the landmark to our play.Poor, poor planning

The BBC Wales thing made me laugh last night, just try and picture the scene:

    With 5 minutes to kick off I place my iPhone into my iPhone dock in the kitchen ready to listen to the action whilst preparing the babies bottles. I launch the BBC iPlayer Radio app;

"Unfortunatley due to contractual agreements this broadcast is not allowed on the internet. Unfortunately due to contra....."

Okay I thought, that's not good. BBC spends millions for all rights to broadcast thousands of games on the radio stations and here I am not able to listen to a British game on a British station using a British app within British borders.

Using the same iPhone docking station I switch the mode to FM Radio. I am now listening to BBC Wales' coverage of the football match.

WTF? I am legally allowed to listen to the game on FM mode but not on iPhone mode on the EXACT SAME DEVICE? Where is the logic?

Makes you want to <doh> that's for sure! I tried on my (Android) phone first, via Firefox but that wouldn't work for some undisclosed reason. The page did suggest I try their app though <doh>

p.s. I don't load my phone with any unnecessary bloat, so I declined their kind offer.

Why not make it your Project to find out, as you clearly have a Very Restrictive Device.
