If you go last you at least know what you have to do.
The worst thing about this period is that having waited no more than 3 or 4 days for a game over the holiday period, we've now had 2 long waits in succession.
Soon the CL will kick in and it'll be frantic again. Seems like little forward planning goes into this.

    I totally agree.

The planning is woeful in england based on protecting the FA cup that they don't actually protect at all.

The period before christmas is relatively hectic due to the internationals dotted in there and the league cup midweek. Europe then drives a lot of activity for the big clubs as well.

We then have this crazy december and january IF you are in league cup where you are virtually flogged to death.

For me I'd rather the charity shield be binned and have the league cup open up the season. Have a big cup kick off right across the grounds and then go from there. Get the thing over and done with before christmas.

Then do similar with the FA cup. The FA have absolutely ruined the FA cup 3rd round now. They ran games right up to the day before our 3rd round opener on the friday night. why? fit league in so nobody cared about fa cup

IMO the FA cup should be midweek at night with no replays and get the thing going. League football weekend, FA cup midweek. then have a break for european games then round out the FA cup from march/april to may.

No team should have to go 2 weeks without a fixture at season end and there should be predictability to the schedule.

finally and most frankly the league cup shouldn't have the european spot. Its a stupid situation where most other countries award to the league and we have one europa spot, and then 2 more to cups.

Remember that the season finishes earlier this year because of the WC hence why things are crammed in a bit more than usual

Expecting Liverpool to win 8-0 with Salah getting them all as he's in my fantasy team.

Agree with all of this apart from the cup europa spots.
For me the Prem winners & Cups should have the CL places
So all 3 have won something to enter CL
I don’t care if that means Torquay get into CL - Tough on the big boys - imagine what it would mean to a championship club to get into CL.
If we have a fourth spot that needs to go into qualifying that should goto runners up in league
Europa spots to the league positions.

    I not daft :)
Prem clubs would never let it happen
Not all countries would have to do it - just makes sense to me. The champions league should not be called the champions league - cause not all entrants are champions.
    Just a pipe dream

the UEFA bods are unhappy with league cup even and made us drop the losing finalists qualifying if the winner was in cl

they've always wanted us to align with rest.

Jürgen Klopp is hopeful Mohamed Salah and Ragnar Klavan will return to training today following illness, but Liverpool will need to check on the condition of Dejan Lovren.

The trio missed Thursday’s double session at Melwood due to sickness, though Virgil van Dijk was involved once again after missing Sunday’s victory over Manchester City due to a hamstring complaint.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: “Virgil was back yesterday and completely fine. We have a few problems with players feeling ill or unwell.

“Raggy was out, but hopefully back today. Dejan was out. Mo Salah was out, but hopefully back today.

“Mo and Raggy are on the good side of it already, but with Dejan we are not 100 per cent sure [if he will be back today].”

Lovren being sick is convenient and he can't bitch about Van Dijk going straight back into the team. Hopefully Salah gets better soon
