What an outrageous comment! (better add an 'in my opinion' here). There again, you've always had the downers on him.
Sometimes, I think I'm watching a different team to some other people. I thought JDG was awful today. As was Pablo. Maybe Pablo was off the pace because he was just returning, but JDG has been poor all season for me. I've heard other people with opinions that agree with me or vehemently disagree, but if could have put JDG on the bench before the game, I would have. I think he's very short on desire and can completely disappear in some games.
I know what you are saying Shaper about JDG but I thought he was good tonight. He responded to the crowd got his shorts dirty and put a shift in. Fantastic strike with his left food second half and a great save actually. Special mention for Shelvey who limped throughout the game and appeared to have injured his hip. It was more apparent when he walked so he did well to get so far. Dyer different class and makes the team come alive. The threat of getting to the byline makes Bony's so much more dangerous. Team and crowd did us proud.
Decent win. We've needed a slice of luck with some goals for a while. Up to 10th now and 6 clear of the drop but we can't be complacent. Got to beat West Ham and Cardiff now.
That's how I see it too! JDG has improved of late, but he's still a liability in my view. Two of Swansea Cities best players are Leon and Nathan, and what a difference Dyers trickery and pace made!.....................

I though JdG did well in the match, although he can be a bit anonymous at times - but so can others. There have been games when Routledge and Dyer may as well have not been on the pitch so it's unfair to single him out. I've lost patience with Pablo - he's had enough games to win me over but has failed to do it. I think he always ****s out of tackles as well - particularly if they are 50/50. He has it in him to do a lot more.
Although JDG has improved the past few games compared to what he usually is like, I still don't think he is anywhere near as good as some people say he is.
Yes. He should only be used as an impact player (and can be quite effective as that) if the other two are fit.
I can't agree on Pablo, as he is a confidence player, and each time he comes back from injury you can see he is short of confidence, he always then gains it, but has been unlucky and picked up another injury, I have every belief that we have still yet to see Pablo at his best, and hopefully he can have an injury free run of games now as I honestly believe he is the difference for us, he can actually beat his man with trickery, the other 2 wingers cannot. Dyer uses pace, Routs never seems to even try to beat his man. Yesterday was a bad day for Pablo, he had lost that yard of pace, which I can only assume is down to the recent injury, yet he still did more during the game that Routs, by actually beating his man. Routs did very little as the winger. Also think that JDG had a good game for his first back, looked a bit slow getting back whilst trying to stop a cross, which he got nowhere near stopping, but other than that, aa good day out for him.
Pablo , was frustrating to watch last night, but he's coming back from an injury with 45 minute against Birmingham and a half and a bit last night .he was trying too hard last night and it wasn't coming off but imo he has the talent and ability that on his day he's unplayable He hasn't had a consistent run in the team due to injuries so hopefully we'll see an improvement with more game time. JDG was good in parts and poor in others ,same could be said for the rest of the side , a team lacking in confidence after so many defeats then it's always difficult to play with an air of arrogance about it. Tremmel I thought was poor last night with a distinct lack of decision making you'd expect from a player of his quality.rooted to the spot on a few occasions and a punch where he could have easily have held onto the ball .Only due to the fact that Fulham were poor in front of goal then that result could have been a lot different .We had the majority of the pocession but they had the best chances in the first half .second half more like our old selves and once the 1st goal went in then the game opened up which suited us better .good result
I've never had a downer on anyone,if you can't see that Ben Davies is going backwards as a player you obviously ain't ever played the game (in my opinion) Look T how nearly every ball he lays is now back to ash, his confidence is shot and his defensive awareness has not improved from his first months at this level,he is t giving us anything going forward either which was his strong point and main reason for being in the team. The player he was marking in the first half had him on toast but instead of shadowing the player and leaving margin for error Ben kept diving in and got slipped like he was a Sunday league player, resulting in a foul and dangerous free kicks that we were struggling to defend! Ben only came into it when fulham had to gamble, before then he was struggling,he has been most of the season and laudrup surely knows it by now! Look at the reactions of ash Williams when Ben was trailing behind his man by about 5 m ,ash covered two players and made a last ditch tackle to block a shot from bens marker, our captains reaction said it all! Let's not be blinded by the fact he is a local boy because if it was one of jdg,can as or Pablo everyone would be up in arms . A great win and overall we did well but the defensive warning signs are there,if we had played a confident fulham team they would have capitalized on our weak defending.

Some valid points, but Taylor isn't that much better. IMO, Ben's passing is FAR better and he is able to spring better counter attack balls, Taylor runs up to the half way line and passes back to Ash. Whilst that will keep possession better it doesn't really help us going forward. I just feel that ML thinks with Rangel & Davies playing we have a better balance going forward (we do play with TWO deep-lying midfielders after all) I do agree though that perhaps away from home or against the bigger teams we should start playing Taylor more just to keep things more solid at the back. Also we should give him some games to keep him sweet, no point losing him as we have room in the squad for both!
