We were superb today and everyone battled so well the desire to win the second ball was fantastic. Montero again terrorised their full back. For once I have walked away from a game thinking that was like Swansea. Jack Cork, Siggy, Fer in the middle of midfield were immense, Paloschi led the line superbly and lots of energy, by a mile his best performance since he has been here. My only little moan and I know i shouldn't, I didn't get the change at the end and going to 5 at the back, we looked so open when prior to the change in formation I was pretty confident they wouldn't score. But for all that a great result and it goes to show what you can do when you go out and have a go at teams. we have done it today and the second half at Stoke and what a difference. I just hope we don't go back into our shells next week. All you players take a bow today. Just to add about Chelsea, cheating diving bastards. Pato went down in front of me screaming, we put the ball out and then he gets up and chases the ref and then Pedro puts the ball out in the corner for a defensive throw in. Horrible, don't put it out next time and where did mariner get his 5 mins from, not one injury and no time wasting.
Relief, relief, relief. Our spirit, epitomized by Paloschi, shone through and won us the game, great win for us. Cork was my man today, such an understated player, glad to see others noticing him too.
Agree with virtually everything you've written there TLF. Best home performance of the season - especially the first half. That said, Taylor was poor at times, whilst Ayew was disappointing. Why does it seem that he has to play when he is fit? Anyway, 40 points on the board and still 5 games left. What were we worried about? Bravo as well to the Manager - good attacking formation and intent, but like TLF says why the change of formation at the end?
Taylor was poor first half and Ayew kept falling over, but I will take that with that result, we showed much more desire than Chelsea. Would have loved to have seen both Barrow and Montero getting at them today.
Just got in. I agree with everything in TLF's post. Great lineup and tactics. Guidolin played the team that we've all been screaming for and got at the opposition as we hoped he would. Cork had his best game for us but all the players stepped up today. It would have been an enjoyable nil nil but the win was deserved and we could have got more. But why we reverted to the back 5 diamond on 84 minutes I don't know. I guess Guidolin couldn't help himself lol. It invited problems and really put us on the back foot. I still hope the 'big announcement' that's imminent doesn't mean Guidolin stays despite today's results. We can do better.
Best show of guts, teamwork and hard graft for a while, dissaointed Montero and Barrow didnt start together as we would have torn chelski a new one with our attack Gilfy and Poz were on the ball too even our defence did well with Ash in control . Bit annoyed Gwendolin killed our attack with his park the bus subs instead of going for the kill but safety is is remit so have to lump it i suppose, 96% happy with our first league win over them and hitting the 40point mark safety is in our hands now
Last straw for me ... After watching Paloschi work his arse off and get replaced by Gomis with no gumption whatsoever , I hope I never see Gomis wear a Swansea shirt again .
I hope Sunderland are relegated, odious bunch of fans most of them, the cat has no lives left...............
I had noticed, it's their way of showing affection, I had the same treatment originally, but they have given up now..........
Couldn't agree more. ****ing horrible bunch of fans - one of the few clubs we have trouble with on the forum. Year after year they do a Houdini but the jig is up I hope. I hate to think of any club around them going down other than them.
