Must admit that I didn't hear any booing at HT yesterday - although that could be because I was on my way inside immediately Mike Dean blew his whistle. Me - I've never, and will never boo the team. I may be frustrated, disappointed even "angry" but the Swans are "my" team and booing is "verboten"! Someone wondered why we may be playing better away - well it could be that as the away team, not only is the pressure off, but the home team tend to attack more. At home, there is more pressure - as well as a "nervous" crowd this season, compared with last season, when there was expectancy rather than nervousness. Good result for us at St. James' Park.
More points the better for sure valley , but it's a big ask for two of three teams to make up 9 points on us with 7 remaining
I'd much rather they have to make up 12 points. We need to start our strongest side for the rest of the season and for me, Leon must start EVERY game.
We've already been expiermenting , Kingsley , Fer , Gomis , Amat , it's great to see Guido and Curtis Expierimenting with the squad in preparation for the future .... Very sensible
Depends on where that future lies doesn't it? That's not experimenting. It's using players at your disposal when injuries arise. Gomis as a centre forward? How is that experimenting? I take it you haven't seen the fixture list. Here's a refresher. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swansea-city/fixtures He MUST pick the best 11 available to get over the line and **** dabbling or experimenting.
Guido and Curtis MUST do whatever they want and ignore the peanut gallery . It was very brave of them to start Gomis , Fer and Kingsley for this game ..same as the Arsenal game with Amat .
Taylor was injured, Kingsley had to play. Gomes had a half decent game but has started before. Fer has earned a start through repeated creditable performances, though he did give a goal away at Bournemouth. So much for bravery. You're also forgetting we were ****e. Next!
Kingsley didn't have to start against Arsenal , they could have put Naughton on for an injured Taylor ..they've used him there before .And let's face it , Starting Gomis since the end of August is brave ... But they started him for this game and the Arsenal game .Brought Fulton as a sub in the Arsenal game ... expiermenting
I know what you're saying Kiff about playing **** but you can't complain about the results. Guido has stated that he's doing what is needed to win games which is what is actually happening. I think you'll see a different approach next game.
Hope you're right swan but Guidolin hasn't filled me with any hope for the future. Away from home? Possibly, and that might get us over the line in the end. Lucky, lucky win yesterday. But it's not experimenting. There were reasons for the Arsenal team as we had two games very close together. But even if I'm wrong (and I'm not) any football fan, manager or pundit who knows the game will tell you that experimenting at the close end of a season is madness. Experimenting when you're not mathematically safe is sheer lunacy.
Look for the expiermenting to continue as we prepare for the future and still get great results through all the complaining ...later
No ones even mentioned 'how far we've come' except you Matt, what point are you trying to make? Personally, I go to as many games as I can and I support my team as a part of a partizan crowd. Others it seems go to the games to be entertained as part of an audience. There's a huge difference between being part of a crowd and a member of the audience. Weak response Matt; you are a royal member of the audience Newcastle 1-1 Sunderland, good result for us, great result for Norwich
Breezy: You do remember Sousa? Maybe you weren't a fan back then, I can't remember. Great results but the worst football we've ever played, though that was not entirely down to the Manager. Depends what you want I guess. Stumpy: Who exactly are you to say who is and who isn't a 'partizan' fan? You been drinking again? I don't think many pay to go and watch football as "part of an audience" unless, like me recently, you are a neutral at a game. Most bums on seats at the Liberty don't want any old team to win. They cheer for the Swans. Not the bums. The owners of the bums. Just so we're clear. Doesn't that make them partizan? I think so. There's nothing special about your position.
I have actually Kiff, and lovely bottle it was too. I always share a bottle of wine or two when I sit with my family to eat. You asked 'who am I to....' In response I'm me Kiff, knackered Jack, hit the road aussie, miss miggins, who ever you are today, and breathing gives me the right to formulate my opinions. That and common sense, observation and listening to what people have to say about events and themselves. That's how I generate my views and opinions on life, people, everything and that's how I justify them. They will be disagreed with, considered good, bad, right or wrong by others but they too have the right to formulate their own and the right to speak them as loudly as they can. Simple as that Kiff, not saying I'm right, just saying I think, there for I am. Hope that helps you Kiff, I've explained, we are all exactly who we are kiff and we all, every one of us, has a voice.
