We seriously missed Wilshere tonight. Elneny is ****ing useless and Ramsey hasn't really improved in the last 5 years.
We need another creative MF player, a DM, a CB and a GK. I'm pleased we're getting Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan, but what's the use if we've got ****e behind them ?
Strange that the midfield was always an area that Wenger got right attacking wise. He now seems confused and bought the wrong blend of players. There isn't much cohesion anymore.
I always enjoy Arsenal coming to the Liberty. You always bring a full allocation and make a lot of noise. Not tonight. I think they were just appalled at what they were watching. Time for Wenger to go, in fact it's long overdue.
Actually, they are 3 points better off! 3 Arsenal 12 9 2 1 31 13 +18 29 4 Liverpool 12 7 5 0 25 7 +18 26
I think the worst thing about our current situation is I cannot see a way to fix anything (apart from sacking the manager). I cannot see one thing to do to turn us into title challengers. in the past it was always "oh we need this a player in this one position". Now it seem we need 4 or 5 players... Even getting rid of Wenger, I think the team itself is not good enough. We need a CDM, probably 2 new CBs, a new GK, and I cannot see us actually signing the players we need. We need a complete rebuild, and it MUST be a new manager to rebuild now. SURELY, it HAS to be. We need to find a replacement manager now. then this summer we have to part ways with AW.
Wow, how myopic can you be. The game was played in driving rain on a pitch that might as well have been a cow pasture. At the end of the day their players were better suited to the conditions, but it was always a coin flip who was going to win. What you saw today was why England will never win the world cup. The conditions in England for nearly half the season are so bad, that skill plays very little part in the game, neither does tactics or the manager. You get a good schedule so you don't play away at the smaller clubs that are going to turn the game into kickball or you get lucky with the weather and win them, then you can win the league. Fair play, that is what those teams have to do to stay up, so that is what they do. I knew we were going to get humped, as soon as I saw the rooster tails coming up from the first 5 passes. No point in crying about it, that is the English game. If you don't like it follow Spanish football.
It's times like this when it makes me realise just how ****ing useless we are at times. Wenger used to say that if he felt he couldn't take the club further, he would step down. Last season was our lowest ever league finish under his tenure and this year, we are going to finish even lower. Yet he ended up signing a two-year contract. It absolutely beggars belief just how incompetent we are. Look at the effect changing manager has had at Swansea already. I genuinely feel like any new appointment we make in the dug-out instead of Wenger would revitalise the squad. If this was any other top club, Wenger would have been gone years ago. People may point to his cup record improving, but is this what it has come to? Mediocre league finishes with a good cup run here and there? Is that why we moved to The Emirates? To be a good cup team? Or was it to compete with the very best in the world? There is no urgency, no communication, no determination to win any game away from home. We can spend as much money as we want on attacking players, the defence and midfield are where our problems lie. Wenger has still not rectified these core issues. We are a richer club than we've ever been in our history, yet this is the worst team we've had for around 20 years. I don't see who benefits in Wenger staying as manager, and that's including the man himself. If he continues on like this, I fear for his mental health.
Xhaka has to go. We need to take it on the chin and accept the £35m we spent on him was a waste of money. He doesn't fulfill any defensive responsibilities and doesn't contribute much going forward either. I still don't understand what his role in the team is. Lacazette's confidence looks shot. He looks like he is regretting moving here. There is no motivation and it is written all over his face. Our midfield trio yesterday is not going to win us any games. We lack steel and guile in midfield. It is easy to bypass us in midfield because we have no presence. The less said about the defence, the better, but Koscielny and Mustafi's partnership isn't working out. Whether that's down to coaching methods or whether they both genuinely do not complement each other, I don't know. Either way, something has to change. 3 away wins in 13 this season is absolutely pathetic. Form like that gets teams relegated. The saddest part is even though I expect us to lose virtually any away game, I still get annoyed afterward because of just how terribly we perform. It infuriates me that, no matter what team we field, we never look like improving.
Just saw the goals. How in Gods Green **** did this happen: please log in to view this image 3 unmarked Swansea players standing on the edge of your six yard box, without any Arsenal player anywhere near them. Your players look static, infact it looks like Xhaka is walking AWAY from the 18 yard box. This is one of the weirdest pictures I have seen. You'd think this was the Swansea box if you didnt know any different. Utter Madness!! Your defensive coach needs shooting.
Agreed. However, the problem AFC have is that that sort of **** has been forgiven for over a decade and will continue to be until the dinosaur leaves.
Looks like Batshuayi's going to Dortmund so we should get some good news today at least, not that I think it will change much
My god. Yes Cech slipped for that goal and miskicked it, but he should never have been put in a 3 on 1 situation to begin with, words fail me......
We like to scapegoat players as Arsenal fans and most times unfairly. I have seen people slating Elneny for no reason. He was the best of the midfielders we had. He was doing his job and doing it well. Out in some vital tackles. He covered Xhaka ass a few times. See what happened after Wenger brought him off. I blame Lacazette. He looked out of sorts. No movement upfront what so ever. I didn't see a goal hungry ST. Just some bloke in a arsenal jersey being there. Xhaka was lazy and looked heavy-legged. Iwobi was defensively poor. I know the weather played a part but these guys are professionals. They have played in the rain before! I would have taken Xhaka off instead. I would have taken Lacazette off. They looked out of it.
