The problem here is that plenty of us have been crying out for this scenario for weeks but it isn't happening.

I might be on my own here but I think it's time to drop Jonjo and bring Jack back in alongside Ki. Jonjo for me just doesn't do it.

Absolutely spot on - Ayew is NOT a winger, and as a result we have lost our shape and cutting edge.

We played Michu as the main striker - why not try it with Ayew.

If fit, I'd prefer Routs to Barrow. For me, Barrow is not yet a PL starter, more an impact player, as he showed against Villa last week.

Ayew played right wing in the World Cup , not sure about his positioning in club football previous to us but Ayew is a winger. The problem with playing wingers in the middle as starters is suddenly they have to worry about 360 degrees , instead of only 180 degrees , something they are not use to and can also be dangerous for them being not use to tackles from behind ..
The problem isn't Ayew on the wing , it's trying to create space for him.
Although he is doing good on the goal scoring , if we had him a few seasons ago he would be outstanding imo.

Ayew, no matter what position he played for his other teams, is not a winger in the traditional sense as he does not have the pace and acceleration but is more of an inside forward. Not only is this having a detrimental effect on the forward players but also on Naughton's game. Remember how Rangel and Dyer worked in tandem. I thought the players didn't lack effort yesterday but the manager's selections, tactics and subs were ****e yesterday.

If Monk has two ounces of intelligence left he will try Ayew in the Striker position, he cannot be any worse than Gomis, nothing ventured nothing gained as they say........<ok>

I'm with Nosugarman - Ayew may play on the right wing, but that doesn't make him a right winger. I agree he is more like an old-fashioned inside forward.

100% agree his first instinct is to turn inside, he doesn't and never will go by the full back on the outside and as such is actually stifling Montero's game as on the right the full back doesn't have to worry about the right side and can afford to double u on the left. It isn't a bad shout to try him up top as Gomis has to be the worst striker by a mile in the premier league.

Best of luck for the rest of your season Swans. <ok> It happened to be Arsenal's day yesterday.

So I've seen a lot of anti Monk sentiment on here. Who would you realistically get in, if he left? What other good managers are there?

Monk went on a bit about how thin our squad is in the pre Arsenal interview.
He also says it by using the same 11 all season so far.
I'm not sure about our keeper situation but ...
    Rangel , Amat , Bartley , Tabanou ,
    Dyer , Cork , Britton , Emnes , Routledge
Ader....looks pretty competitive to me .
It's hard to say how any of these guys would work out in these respective positions.... Unless they are tried.
And I would prefer them coming in for a bit without it being because of injury.

Smacks a little bit of excuses, excuses from GM. Didn't he say at the start of the season that this is the strongest squad the swans have ever had.

I agree completely Roofer with your point about injuries. I believe Dyer is at Leicester for the season and wouldn't be surprised to see Emnes go in January. Hopefully some of the under 21's such as Grimes, Hanley and Mcburnie will be pushing for a place by the year's end. For the life of me I can't understand how Gorre is going to improve sitting on the bench at Den Haag as an unused sub.
