Never mind looking to change up front when we are struggling at at back.....We need 3 or 4 quality defenders to help the ones we have got already. There is nobody good enough to replace our normally solid defence and they are not getting breaks they need from time to time. We have enough to stay up this season but we really need to increase our defender choices as its not healthy playing virtually the same players all the time...they will make mistakes the more they play and they need a break sometimes .

Average first half ripped off for a pen but totally shameful 2nd half looked lost with no leadership and no individual class anymore to lift the others ! Gomis cant be first choice with his unreliable form but Monk cant see what most fans can as usual which keeps the doubt of his ability alive ! 42% happy .

    Just got back home.

After a decent first half that I thought we just edged, the second half was disappointing to say the least.

Gomis should have scored with his 1 on 1. That goes in and it's an entirely different game.

Gave away a poor goal at the start of the second half, but still in it at that stage. However, game over with Fab's flap.

Without doubt, we have a lack of a cutting edge. If Routledge is fit for next week, one option could be to move Ayew inside as the lone striker and play Routs on the right.

If Monk just wants to play for a point, drop Gomis and bring in Cork to bolster the midfield, with Ayew playing up top.

Why it took so long to sub Gomis is baffling - unless Monk has no faith in Eder

Well if ever there was a game thrown away that was it, from dominating Arsenal for most of the first half, to playing like a pub team second half. Gomis is now affecting the whole of our forward line, and must be dropped, he's costing us points and games, even Monty is now losing it, and he and Gomis should have been substituted at half time, for Barrow and Eder.

Monk clearly doesn't have a clue about forward play, and his substitutions once again were pointless, there is no strategy in the final third from what I can see, and if we cannot win these games at home, then we are in for a very rough ride, Huw Jenkins had better get his cheque book out in January otherwise we will be bumping along the bottom missing the biggest pot of money in premier league history..........<ok>

No it is not good especially as we have a lot of internationals that don't get enough breaks. We will be ok this season but we must have a big clear out and spend some decent money on some quality replacements who we can use more than we are doing.......Ash is a star and a good captain and even he is making mistakes he would not normally make when fresh.....Fab in goal is another one that looks to need a spell on the bench as he has made a few mistakes as well. We use rangel but he plays his heart out but we need better today.........A genuine sort out needed at the club as we are limited on quality replacements...

The trouble is if he has no faith then that can become a double edged sword . the timing of the changes was bizarre to say the least .

We have an unused defender that cost use 3.5 million dai, what makes you think if we get more they'll be used.
Monk has no confidence in our bench , he said as much in his pre game interview midweek.
He talked about how great Arsenals bench was , referencing that they'll play well even with injuries and in no certain terms , belittle our bench. Its why he uses the same team week in and week out.
He should have passed up Tabanou and Ader and spent 8.5 million on someone "Gpod Enough "to use.

We look clueless up front, and it all flows from Gomis, some pundits rate him, but I do not, and if Eder isn't given a start next game then we need to bring in someone of quality in January, even if on loan..........<ok>

I believe he really is now in a hole which is beginning to get bigger , there was no character in that side once we conceded , aimless shrugs of the shoulders and a lack of desire , it took Williams to come alive and drive forward and in doing so made Cech earn his pay , now that has to tell you something about the side or more so the Managers ability to get the players to respond

I'm not disagreeing but we have a young player signed who has been biding his time and all he gets is 5-10 minutes in a game ,Monk try being brave for once and give the fringe players a chance , they may prove you wrong or is that what he's afraid of ?

With the big pay day at the end of the season which we will get, i have no doubt about that, We should have a massive clear out of the players we are not using much and a few of the players we do use because there is nobody better in the clubs view........We need far more quality players than what we have got and that means for once we should bite the bullet and spend some serious dosh.......working on the cheap wont cut it anymore as we are finding out and its lucky there are half a dozen teams in a worst position but if we want to stay in the premiership for a long time then we need much better caliber of player. Ayew i believe will go at the end of the season anyway and if we get offers for gomis then we should sell. We have had a great ten years so i cant complain but if we want to continue our quest then its time to make changes whether its in players or in management at the end of the season..

And judging on performances, the players know it too.

I don't know how many games we played this season that we had , imo , the best players and our opponents had the best team.

Individually we have PL standard players , maybe not top 6/8 but still good enough for this league , the problem we may have is that we atm don't appear to have an experienced PL manager , and thats not slighting Monk but these periods are the ones where you earn your money , will he be given time to learn I hope so but it's a results business so who knows .We seem to take two steps forward and one back atm with not everyone in step .

Agree. Other than up front, we have our strongest ever squad in the PL and yet atm we cannot string two passes together, lack in confidence and hav no attacking threat.

People keep on saying we have the strongest squad in Swans history. I'd agree with you, we haven't up front.

Is Gomis better than Bony? Has Ayew shown he is better than Dyer? At the moment I'd drive the pair of them back to France myself - what a ******* inept performance by the pair of them.

At one point Ayew, who had moved infield, looked to pass to some one out on the right, then shrugged his shoulders because there was no one there. It was supposed to be YOU you muppet! I can't say anything about Gomis than has already been said above.

Monk, the Swans are 1-0 down. Make a sub before we go 2-0 down.
    2-0.
    Too ****ing late mate.
    3-0.
Montero, our most constructive player is taken off. Barrow comes on. Ayew goes on the left.
AYEW GOES ON THE LEFT INSTEAD OF MONTERO!!
Ayew, who did **** ALL today is put on the left to replace Montero.
I think I laughed out loud it was so bad.

We might as well loan out most of our squad and save a bit of money.
Monk has been lucky with injuries but if we start getting them a lot of squad players will thrown into the deep end ..... without water wings

I think we would all be happy if a certain someone had an injury. Seems it will be the only way for him not to start a game <grr>
