Going to have to look at this again now. I did point out to my wife Taylors position as the shot was hit. He seemed miles away when he shouldn't have been....a bit like Philiips attempted block of the drop goal yesterday!

I cut taylor some slack these days because he has come back from a rather bad ankle injury, and in fairness to him, I thought he had a good game, it will take him most of this season to get back to his very best form, but as for Rangel, he's starting to look a liability, that one I'll grant you!...........<ok>

Ahem, I shall have you know that I have seen the light and have moved to Skewen as well<cheers>

Great result today, great performance against a team that were looking to make an impact performance after their European disaster. All of the players were excellent and manager is showing that as he gains more experience he can make a real name for himself in football management.

Only goal difference keeps us out of Top 4 as we approach a third of the way through the season. This is great stuff from the team.

The thing is FFP and the huge TV cash has narrowed the gap between the haves and the have nots, the bottom club now earns more than the EPL winners of 2011/12 did. 50% of UK TV rights revenue and all overseas TV rights revenue is split equally. 25% is used as the 'prize pot' and the other 25% split up on a 'per televised game' basis. As this is, for most, the major source of revenue, the gap has narrowed.

Jeez Phil, exactly how much "best form" does it take to get on your bike and be in position. If his ankle injury is still an encumbrance (either mentally or physically) he shouldn't be on the field. At this rate, Ben Davies will have retired from the game and be in management by the time Taylor gets back to "best form". IMO, that excuse is getting over used and more than a little thin, because an excuse is all it is. It is not a reason for not busting a gut to get back. At the end of that play Taylor should be bent over and gasping for air - not standing up straight and looking sheepish.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "It's disappointing to throw a game away like we did. We were 1-0 up and had to be tight defensively and wait for that second chance. But you have to credit Swansea who didn't give up. In football you can believe anything is possible, any minute you can concede. Bafetimbi Gomis is good in the air and it can happen. You have to accept that Swansea will fight until the last minute. We eased off at 1-0 and let them back into the game. Football is down to performances. We are here to produce performances, and didn't do that right until the end of the game."

Well... This must be one of the first times he has admitted the other team were better!

Just beat Arsenal, Top 5 nearing third of the way through season, third best defence in the Premier League.

Taylor is the only player that goes ""Under a microscop"" every game , regardless of how badly other players play .

A very good performances all round and we played football, The Swansea Way, from start to finish.
As I stated we should win ... and we did.
I asked for a performance and we got it.
At last we played like a team and Monk got the subs spot on.
No way was that a 10 yellow card game.
Barrow has electric pace (as someone mentioned on this board yesterday)
    Goodnight.

Project ... it is tough to admit that despite spending a ton on money that you're not as good as clubs that have spent less and captured better quality in the process. City, United, Spurs, 'Pool (in particular), and Arsenal should all be doing some serious internal reviews as to what they are doing "wrong" because they are not getting the returns they should from their investments.

Southampton have been stellar in the back office with player transfers and on the field in terms of fashioning a very solid set of performances .... and this after looking none too impressive against us earlier this season.

It's a topsey turvey kind of season. At this rate we could qualify for the Champions League - consistency will get us there, compared to other clubs I think we have sufficient quality. Over the next month we need to stretch out the gap between us and say the 7th position. It's a tough month but if we come through with a few wins we're looking good - the three against Arsenal are three most were not calculating into the November possible points.

The match at West Ham is shaping up to be cracker.

Just back from the game and am ruing the decision to stop drinking for November - could murder a few celebratory pints now, but can't go back on my word! Fantastic performances all over the pitch and several of the lads were flat on their backs for a good few moments after the final whistle; they were willing to die for the cause today - best performance for quite a while, and the first 90 minute performance this season.

A few niggles but to be honest can't fault anyone after a performance like that - would be nit picking in the extreme! ;)
