But we are losing Kyle Bartley to Birmingham in an exchange deal for Redmond.....not happy with losing Kyle.
not to bothered about losing bartley tbh. It will free up a place for redmond or whoever else we need, A few more needs to be off loaded also and if young donnelly is not going to be used then send him out on loan or sell him....
Hi there Swans ! Don't get to excited about Redmond just yet, I think the Hughton connection will be enough to lure him our way, remember the Ryan Bennett deal?
Thing is Chippy, Birmingham want our Kyle Bartley so were prepared to use this as a sweetener for the deal to go through.
If your offering Bartley as part of your offer that probably means we are offering more cash only? that may also have some sway with the Brum board? He'll hopefully remember that Hughton fast tracked him into the first team? Let battle commence !!
Listening to Talk Sport earlier, the local Mirror reporter was stating that Lee Clark wants Kyle Bartley and his preference is that they will use Redmond to get Bartley plus a wad of cash, plus Birmingham have often done this type of deal to suit their needs.
If both offers have been excepted then it's down to the player where he wants to go, so I don't see where Bartley comes into it really?
Kyle Bartley set for Birmingham City loan switch as part of the deal to bring Nathan Redmond to South Wales Nathan Redmond in action for England Under 21 Swansea City have had a bid accepted for Birmingham City starlet Nathan Redmond. Our sister website the Birmingham Mail says the Blues have accepted bids from the Swans and Norwich and have rejected a bid from an unnamed Premier League club. The report says although Brum boss Lee Clark would not like to see the winger go - the club’s parlous financial state dictates that yet another of their prized assets is to depart. Clark is understood to have targeted Swansea defender Kyle Bartley on loan to offset some of the slack caused by Curtis Davies’ £2.25 million switch to Steve Bruce’s Hull City. “I have agreed terms with two players and two Premier League clubs to take a right-sided centre-half and a left-sided centre-half on season-long loans,” Clark revealed. “Those deals are subject to medicals when the lads get off holidays, as Premier League teams aren’t due back for 10 days to two weeks. “But I hope to have those completed next week because of the agreements with the players and the clubs are in place. “It’s just down to them coming through the medicals. “I have spoken to both players and I will be delighted to get them,” added Clark, who signed midfielder Tom Adeyemi on a free transfer from Norwich when Blues reported back for pre-season."
Seems West Ham are in for Jefferson Montero. His fee is reputed to be £3.5 million and I think that's good value for a player with his pace and trickery. Surprised that we haven't shown interest but perhaps Redmond, a similar player, might offer better value... and he's British. Looks like we can forget about Kone too. Today's papers report him as saying he is only interested in following Judas to Everton. It seems like we are in a battle with other clubs for almost every striker we have expressed an interest in. Let's hope that Jenkins and Laudrup have a closet diamond up their sleeves.
Latest Twatter rumour is that Jonjo Shelvey is coming to Swansea by the end of the week to cover the remaining Joe Allen fee of about £5m still owed to us from Liverpool... Erm... No thanks!
