Birmingham teenager attracting Premier League attention. Birmingham City are likely to sell star youngster Nathan Redmond this summer after his performances for the England Under-21s have seen enquiries come in from four Premier League clubs, according to the Daily Mail. Newly-promoted Crystal Palace are chasing a winger, and were said to have made an offer of around £1million last week, which Steve Clark’s side may have to accept due to Redmond only having one year remaining on his current contract at St Andrew’s. Palace have also shown a strong interest in another young England star playing in the Championship, Blackpool winger Tom Ince. The other Premier League sides chasing Redmond are said to be Swansea, Fulham and Norwich, and Birmingham will be hoping that the number of interested clubs will see them able to set an asking price closer to £3million. The 19-year-old scored two goals for the club in the Championship this season, and seven the season before as he made his first-team breakthrough, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young players outside of England’s top flight. He took his fine form to the Under-21 European Championships, where large numbers of scouts watched him, though Stuart Pearce’s England team were eliminated after losing all three games in the group stages. Do we need another winger ,
Our Ash is becoming very popular Everton Join Race For Swansea City Centre-Back Ashley Williams by Steven Green June 13th, 2013 Martinez wants reunion with Welsh stopper. Everton have become the latest club to enter the race to sign Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, according to the Mirror. The 28-year-old has already been the subject of much speculation from Arsenal and Liverpool after enjoying a fine season in south Wales, but it is now Everton who are hoping to persuade him to leave the Liberty Stadium. New Everton boss Roberto Martinez first brought Williams to Swansea in 2008 from Stockport County, and is now hoping to be reunited with the highly sought after centre back. They will still face stiff competition from the Gunners, however, with the future of Thomas Vermaelen still in doubt. Wenger had made enquiries about an £8 million move in the January transfer window and could come back with a concrete offer within the next two weeks. Vermaelen’s injuries have seen him slip down the pecking order at the Emirates and Wenger reportedly hopes to replace him with Williams who possesses all of the leadership qualities that he looks for. However, Italian giants Napoli have also been credited with an interest after new manager Rafa Benitez was impressed with Williams during their two Capital One Cup semi finals. Napoli have been linked with Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and will move for Williams should anything fail to materialise with the big Slovakian.
Swansea apparently looking at Wakaso Mubarak of Villarreal. He was loaned out to Espanyol last season. Dunno if we need him if we sign JDG

'Newly promoted Cardiff have a long-standing *interest in Gomis, who would cost around *£12million and shatter the clubâs transfer record. But Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins last week flew out to France to discuss transfer targets , including Gomis.' Has this been mentioned or is it made up story from the Mirror? Can't see us wanting a player suited to Cardiff's game at any price but the £12 million suggests it's BS.
Gomis is a very decent player indeed and would be a fab signing for us. There's a thread elsewhere on this.

Interesting that Villa are raiding the Danish market for two recent signings. They have bought 20 year old centre back Jores Okore for £4 million and then snapped up 22 year old striker Nicklas Helenius for just £1.2 million. This guy was the Danish player of the year, stands 6ft 5" and scored an acceptable 40 goals in 102 games. I am guessing that if there is one market Michael Laudrup knows better than the Spanish one, it would be his native domestic league. So, I am wondering if he has ignored these players in an attempt to get better, or maybe Lambert beat him to the punch. I don't know much about either player, particularly Okore but Helenius strikes me as a decent prospect for £1.2 million and would certainly offer us options up front being as tall as he is. He could well have made a very decent squad member. Whatever, it strikes me that Laudrup must have known about these players, so the fact that he didn't move for Helenius, fills me with hope that he has someone pretty special on the radar to operate up front. Fingers crossed!
I think over the next 3 years Lambert will have turned Villa into something special. But then again, you can't win anything with kids.
Another player linked to us ,Michy Batshuayi (born 2 October 1993) is a Belgian association footballer currently playing for Standard Liège in the Belgian Pro League He plays as a Striker. Swansea is returned to dance to transfer Michy Batshuayi. So Anderlecht striker Standard is to the eye, the Premier League club has made an offer of around € 3 million in Standard, tells L'Avenir.
Swansea City's bid for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi turned down Thursday, June 20, 2013South Wales Evening PostFollow SWANSEA City have seen a bid for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi turned down. Swansea are thought to have tabled an offer of 3 million euros – just over £2.5 million – for the 19-year-old Standard Liege frontman. Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup Belgian Under-21 international Batshuayi scored 12 goals last season to help his club finish fourth in the Belgian top flight and qualify for Europe as a result. The suggestion is that Swansea could yet land the forward if they improve their initial bid.
Seen a few articles on newsnow today about real Betis attacking midfielder pozuelo. Apparently only have to pay a compensation fee of something like 500k. He's 21 and was wanted by barca and Manu season before last. Due to a contract dispute he didn't play much last season and the interest has apparently dwindled. Don't know anything of him myself so anyone with more knowledge of the guy care to share?
No problem. David, a dozen large rissoles for Lauds with extra chips. Tell Tom Ince to get off his ar.se and peel some spuds .......
I was in Rossis at lunchtime and David Villa told me the Swans were still looking for top talent. I think I have found some.....http://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup/players/player=232121/index.html
So....... It's looking likely that when the transfer window opens we will promptly sign; 1) Jordi Amat - CB cover 2) Jose Canas - CM bite 3) Alejandro Pozuelo - AM goals/creativity 4) Jonathan De Guzman - season long loan 5) Michy Batshuayi - CF Athletic young cover For approximately £8 million (including signing on and loan fees).... Leaving us waiting on Gomis' answer....with enough money left over to make another signing or 2 throughout the summer should the right deal come along (e.g. Nathan Cameron) NOT BAD My glass is brimming over
