No Phil I have other things to do, but I have just finished what I am doing on my PC tonight, so will wait for the anti huw stuff off Dai when I get up
Now that's more like it, Dai anti Hewy, surely not!!.............................. please log in to view this image
DPJ, forget about Bodde, if he plays again in the Swans first team i will be the first to admit i was wrong but i reckon he is finished - noone takes this long to come back from this sort of injury (unless he is seeing the wrong medics which i think might be the case). Borini I agree but as previously mentioned if it was gonna happen it should have been pre season rather than him going to Roma on loan. I read Rodgers wants 4 new signings/loans in January - what positions i ask? CD, DM, AM and striker seem the obvious options but as also previously mentioned wages are always going to be a problem so who would be the options?
That's the thing with you Dai! We'll never be promoted, we'll never get our man, we'll be relegated, Jenkins knows nothing, we'll won't win... Granted, who we were playing and chances are they could have upped a gear and still won, but as famously said "It's a funny old game"... Again, had we pulled off a draw or a win, then it would be all about the effective way we play... That's my opinion anyways.....
Agreed .... we demonstrated once again that we belong, that we can do more than hold our own, that we can create opportunity to win games against the very best. We were not beaten, we lost as a result of a mis-step of our own making. We just need to believe it more in the locker room and get stuck in from the first whistle as opposed to after half time.
We did get beat though, because in other games, we would never have got rid of the ball upfield like Rangel maybe should have, because no-one pressed us so high up the pitch. It was an error, but it was a forced error. We did hold our own, but I don't think there was anyway we were going to win that game after the first goal went in. They were obviously in second gear, and yes they never looked like going through the gears, but they were never under any pressure to do so.
Agreed .... we demonstrated once again that we belong, that we can do more than hold our own, So did burnley, hull and Blackpool with the latter doing better than we have done at this stage last season, so nothing can be assumed yet, we are only 9 points off the bottom with the leaders out of sight already......we just may go to pieces if the board dont give buck enough money to get the players we need....you get nothing for nearly drawing or should have won......so at the end of the day its what we do in january....
I think it is generally agreed that we do need to strengthen in the next window; Buck and the club have already stated this and it doesn't hurt that Sir Alex added a similar opinion as well in a statement saying how well we were doing. I have said it before but I don't mind repeating that we just don't need bodies - we have plenty of them! If it is affordable, we have to try and add quality. I would sooner we signed 2 x £5 million players as opposed to 4 x £2.5 million players. Not saying that we have that much to spend but that would be my principle. I'm sure Buck and the club have already spread a wide net and it would be fantastic if Borini could be one of those players. There'd have to be a lot of hard talking to Parma and Roma though. It would help if Borini was having a tough time with Roma. Anyone got any idea as to how he's performing? Badly, I hope!!!
Borini has played 7 and scored 1 for Roma according to wiki , so don't really know how much of a hard time he is having
that is what i say ivor. buck needs £10-£15 million if we are ever going to do anything. norwich are having that amount and you can bet money bags qpr will spend even more...speculate to accumalate, we can afford it.....
Speculating to accumulate is another word for gambling, the club won't gamble the sum of money you are suggesting as it would mean we are running at a huge loss this season IMO. And the lower leagues are littered with clubs who have done that and are still struggling now. What others do is up to them, but can't see Norwich spending like that as they are under the same constraints as us, qpr are likely to though. If I was a gambling man I would put money on the club getting loan players in, together with the players we can't play because of FIFA , and maybe a purchase if the right player comes along.
Okay, thought I'd just throw this question out. Say Parma would be prepared to sell Borini (Roma agreeing), how much would you posters think that the Swans should pay to get him? Just a bit of fun, so let's not get too serious about it.
Well on wiki it says that the loan was for €1.7m with an option to buy for €7m so don't know how true either are .
Yes but we would have to pay the €7m to Parma and buy out Roma of the loan deal , which could add another €1m to the cost, there are a lot of variables and I think we have missed the boat on him, at least for this season anyway. Maybe an option for next if we stay up.
Dai if you are going to reply, tell you what try offering an opinion ! I offer mine all you say are ones like the one above, your problem is dai is that you offer no opinion just throw the insults when people disagree with you
i have always said we have to give brendan a minimum of £10-£15 million ,,,,,i have been saying this for weeks, what did you say £1.5 -£2 mill, so i have made my opinion clear that i know as we are a premiership club nothing less will do, your figure would not even buy just one player better than what we have got already.......we are in the big league now jager and it will take money to stay here....hence speculate to accumulate....
