    We always refer to the Victory as The Paradise Gil.

    I was in there with 2 of my sons fter the Boro 3-2 game, in our usual spot upstairs in the bay window, and it was buzzing. We'd had quite a few and I was saying, "You know this place is great, draught Scotch, ham & pease pudding stotties, 5 minutes from the ground and some great lads .... it's a paradise."

    "You're right, apart from the fact it's always so bloody hot."

    "Yeah, fair enough .... OK, it's a tropical paradise."

    <laugh>

    Probably funnier after a few pints but the name stuck, some of the lads we've brought since then actually think it's called the Paradise <doh>
